Job Overview:

The Machine Learning team at Coursera is seeking interns to assist in the design, development, and deployment of machine learning systems that enhance our platform’s educational offerings. As an intern, you will work on building scalable machine learning pipelines, optimizing models for production, and ensuring the robustness and efficiency of our machine learning applications. Your contributions will be vital in improving the performance and reliability of our hyper-personalized search and recommendation systems..

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of machine learning models and algorithms for real-world applications in the online education domain.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to translate prototypes and research models into production-ready solutions.
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end machine learning pipelines.
  • Optimize machine learning models for performance and scalability, ensuring they can handle large volumes of user data and requests.
  • Monitor the performance of deployed models, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements based on performance metrics.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in machine learning, software engineering, and data infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a B.E./B.Tech. Degree or higher in Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Must be currently enrolled in a full time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and experience with building and deploying predictive models.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python  along with experience in relevant machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  • Experience with data engineering concepts, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and working with databases.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and hands-on, with a relentless focus on impact and the ability to work independently.
