About this role

You'll help build and engage Coursera's global learner community across organic social channels, sitting at the intersection of social strategy, audience engagement, learner advocacy, and brand storytelling. Rather than managing reactions alone, you'll develop proactive engagement approaches that increase Coursera's visibility, strengthen learner relationships, and surface insights that inform social content and broader marketing strategy. You'll partner closely with Social, Brand, Content, Learner Support, PR/Comms, and external agency partners to ensure Coursera shows up with a timely, thoughtful, and learner-centered voice. You'll also identify learners with compelling stories, build a pipeline for follow-up, and help translate community conversations into content opportunities, testimonials, and strategic insights.

About your skills

Social Media Management

Core skill for managing community voice, engagement, and interactions across Coursera's organic social platforms daily.

Social Listening

Critical for identifying community trends, learner sentiment shifts, and emerging platform behaviors to inform strategy.

Community Outreach

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and execute proactive community engagement strategies across Coursera's organic social channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, and emerging community surfaces like Reddit to grow brand visibility and deepen learner connection
  • Manage Coursera's community voice across social platforms by responding to high-priority learner comments, mentions, repost opportunities, and engagement moments, while coordinating with agency support for general comment response
  • Identify community trends, learner needs, sentiment shifts, and emerging platform behaviors, then translate findings into actionable recommendations for social content, campaigns, and audience engagement strategy
  • Build and maintain a learner story pipeline by identifying learners with compelling outcomes or experiences, conducting thoughtful outreach, and coordinating follow-up with relevant internal partners
  • Partner with Learner Support, Social, Brand, Content, PR/Comms, Legal, and agency teams to escalate sensitive issues, align on messaging, and ensure community interactions reflect Coursera's brand and values
  • Track and report on community engagement, proactive outreach, learner story sourcing, sentiment, and recurring themes to measure impact and inform ongoing strategy

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in community management across major social platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Threads, Reddit, or X
  • Experience using social media management, social listening, or reporting tools to monitor engagement, sentiment, and audience trends, and to source customer stories for marketing purposes
  • Experience building proactive community engagement programs that go beyond inbound response management
