Commercial Division President
CPI Security, is seeking an experienced Commercial Divisional President. CPI Security is a market leading provider of security, video and fire systems and services. CPI has been in business for over 30 years and serves over 225,000 customers across a large area of the Southeastern US. Already a strong provider of commercial security, video monitoring, and fire services, the company seeks an experienced leader who can expand and drive growth across regional and super regional markets. This is a senior level executive role responsible for overseeing all commercial operations, business development, and strategic initiatives within the company. The role demands strong leadership, industry expertise, and the ability to develop and execute strategies that maximize revenue, market share, EBITDA, and operational efficiency. CPI is committed to finding value accretive acquisitions to enhance the Commercial division capabilities and scale and would strongly consider an acquisition that brought with it a strong business leader to fill this role within the same transaction. This position will be located in our Charlotte, NC headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive business strategy to address the substantial market opportunity with a go-to market approach to profitably grow market share
- Responsible for Divisional P&L ownership including overall top line commercial revenue and associated profitability and cash flows
- Own the business plan to address CPI’s targeted commercial markets

- Regional Accounts or Regional work for select national accounts
- Lead across a matrixed environment to drive supporting functions to deliver key business outcomes. Work with marketing and sales operations to establish the size of the market opportunity for the above in each geographic area served and specific growth targets
- Continuously iterate on and improve upon core business processes to enhance growth and profitability in a scaled fashion
- Enhance the structure and talent across the commercial organization creating plans to grow and executing talent development
- Develop and maintain broad industry relationships to identify key trends, products and markets that push the business on the forefront of the evolving space
- Network and identify inorganic growth opportunities and execute accretive acquisitions and subsequent integrations
- Work closely with the operations teams to estimate and track job costs and ensure profitability of each job
- Be a highly visible leader
- Walk the walk and lead by example to the commercial team
- Be a role model, gain and maintain the respect of the broader organization
- Assist the CEO and other senior executives in representing the Company at industry events and in the community
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Must have a minimum of at least 10+ years of commercial security sales leadership experience, working for a regional or national security, video and fire systems provider required
- Experience managing sales and installation operations in commercial security, access control, PVM, and fire systems
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of driving strategy to execution
- Ability to influence and successfully work as a team player across a matrixed structure (e.g., marketing, finance, HR and field operations)
- Ability to convey solutions benefits of complex technology to prospects, customers, and employees in layman’s terms
- Knowledge and understanding of security system industry, products, services, and technology
- Proven expert level communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strong collaboration, delegation, and motivation skills
- Operates with high levels of integrity in all aspects of the role
Other Experience Required
- Experience with estimating, design and proposal processes for integrated solutions as well as basic systems
- Experience leading a similarly sized organization to include numerous managers or directors
- Experience working in a multi-location and functional matrix organization is required
- Experience managing the needs and complexities of multi-location regional and national accounts
- Demonstrated success as an organizational leader who can outline a “from – to” story of their achievements
- Must be results driven with a documented record of success
- Comfortable in a fast-paced business environment
