Senior Payroll Analyst
CPI Security, based in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Analyst to join our growing Finance team. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with a strong background in payroll processing, compliance, and analytics, looking to take the next step in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Senior Payroll Analyst will be responsible for end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to federal and state regulations. This role is on site, full-time at our headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
What You’ll Do:
- Payroll Processing: Lead and execute bi-weekly multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees. Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.
- Commission Calculations: Prepare and execute sales commission and bonus calculations with various discrete compensation plans. Includes obtaining and understanding of various pay plans and compensation structures.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. Prepare and file payroll-related tax filings and reports.
- Payroll System Administration: Act as a key stakeholder and subject matter expert for payroll systems. Support payroll system upgrades and implementation of process improvements.
- Audit Support: Prepare payroll reports and documentation for internal and external audits. Ensure data integrity and respond to audit inquiries promptly.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues, align on benefit deductions, and ensure data accuracy.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for improved efficiency and accuracy in payroll processes. Stay up to date with regulatory changes and industry best practices.
- Analytics: Provide payroll analytics and insights to support decision-making and reporting to leadership.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll. Experience with payroll tax filing, reconciliations, and garnishments required.
- Certifications: CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paycom) and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Clear and effective communicator with the ability to explain complex payroll matters to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
