What You Will Be Doing:

We are seeking a Sales & Implementation Engineer to play a key role across both the pre-sales and post-sales lifecycle. In this hybrid position, you will partner with Sales to support technical evaluations and guide customers through successful implementation and onboarding.

You will act as a technical advisor-demonstrating the value of CrashPlan solutions, assisting with solution design, and ensuring smooth deployment and adoption. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both customer-facing technical sales and hands-on implementation work.

Day In the Life:

Pre-Sales & Solution Support

  • Partner with Account Executives to support technical aspects of sales opportunities
  • Assist in delivering product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution briefings
  • Support Proof-of-Value (POV) engagements to validate CrashPlan solutions
  • Gather customer requirements and help identify technical challenges and solutions
  • Help address customer questions and technical objections during the sales process
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to align solutions with customer needs
  • Support partners and MSPs in understanding and positioning CrashPlan solutions
  • Contribute to demo environments and technical sales materials
  • Participate in marketing events, webinars, or trade shows as needed

Implementation & Customer Delivery

  • Support and lead implementations of CrashPlan solutions for customers
  • Configure and deploy solutions in cloud-based environments
  • Assist with integrations including directory services, SSO, SCIM, and MFA
  • Work with customer IT and Security teams to ensure successful setup and configuration
  • Help optimize deployments to align with customer goals and use cases
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and support onboarding and adoption
  • Collaborate with Professional Services, Support, Sales, and Operations teams

 

Who You Are:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering including demos and POCs for prospects
  • Prior implementation or onboarding experience working with SaaS or enterprise software
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of IT infrastructure (cloud, endpoints, identity systems).
  • Experience with:
    • Directory services (Active Directory, OpenLDAP, etc.)
    • Identity & access management concepts (SSO, SAML, SCIM, MFA)
    • Windows, macOS, and/or Linux environments
  • Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or JavaScript)
  • Willingness to travel (up to ~10–15%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure (including Entra ID)
  • Familiarity with identity providers (Okta, Azure AD, Ping)
  • Experience with endpoint management tools (Intune, JAMF, SCCM, Workspace ONE, etc.)
  • Exposure to data protection or security solutions
  • Consulting or customer-facing project experience
  • Experience working with partners or MSPs

 

The On-Target Earnings range (base salary + variable) for this role is $160,000 - $200,000. This position is eligible for a variable bonus plan based on assigned targets, in addition to a full range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k match, and more. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and the candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law.
