What You'll Do

The Junior Merchant will support the day-to-day management and growth of the Water Sports category for Scuba.com and our marketplace channels. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, curious, and eager to develop their career in merchandising and buying.

Working closely with the Merchant and cross-functional teams, the Junior Merchant will assist with assortment planning, product performance analysis, forecasting, vendor coordination, promotional planning, and marketplace initiatives. This role will also have the opportunity to develop a strong understanding of the watersports industry, Amazon and other marketplace channels, and the overall merchandising lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with numbers and data, and motivated to learn and grow into a Merchant/Buyer role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day management of assigned product categories.
  • Assist with product assortment planning and maintenance.
  • Analyze sales, inventory, margin, and product performance.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and Open to Buy planning.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with purchasing decisions.
  • Coordinate with vendors on pricing, products, and availability.
  • Support new product launches and product lifecycle management.
  • Assist with promotional planning and performance analysis.
  • Support product performance across Amazon and other marketplaces.
  • Partner with Marketing, E-commerce, Operations, and Retail teams.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on category performance.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitors, and growth opportunities.
  • Responsibilities may evolve over time; employees may be asked to take on additional duties as needed to support business priorities.

  • Desire to develop into a Merchant/Buyer role.
  • Merchandising, buying, e-commerce, or retail experience is a plus.
  • Open to Buy, forecasting, or marketplace experience is a plus.

This role requires three on-site days weekly to ensure in-person collaboration, improved communication, effective teamwork, and real-time problem solving to enhance team synergy and productivity. A standard 40-hour work week is expected.

Pay range for this role:

$70,000 - $85,000 USD
