Associate Director, Investment Valuation
The Investment Valuation team plays a critical role in Credigy’s transaction decision-making, evaluating portfolio economics and risk, shaping transaction structures, and advising on capital deployment. Responsibilities include asset research, detailed financial modeling, setting critical assumptions, performing scenario analyses, and delivering strategic investment recommendations.
Position Summary
As an Associate Director in Credit – Investment Valuation, you'll partner closely with the Senior Director to lead valuation efforts that drive investment opportunities across all asset classes. You will be responsible for comprehensive financial modeling (including quantitative methods to forecast loan performance), conducting diligence, preparing impactful presentations, and providing structural recommendations to inform strategic investment decisions. The role offers the opportunity to become a thought leader at Credigy through rigorous thinking and effective communication of your ideas.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct deep research across asset classes (e.g., consumer loans, MSRs, solar loans, insurance‑backed assets)
- Perform detailed analyses of large datasets to identify trends, extract meaningful insights, and develop informed valuation assumptions
- Take the lead in building and refining cash flow models across scenarios that underpin deal pricing
- Analyze historical performance trends; benchmark via third‑party/market comparable
- Partner with business development, legal, and operational teams to assess the broad risk profile of investment opportunities and quantify those risks in financial models
- Draft investment memos and present recommendations to executive leadership
- Mentor junior analysts and improve valuation processes/tools
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, or a quantitative field
- 7+ years of experience in structured finance, consumer ABS, or private credit valuation
- Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL, Python/R/SAS, and Tableau
- Familiarity with platforms like Bloomberg, dv01, and Intex
- Strong credit and financial modeling skills, with exposure to legal documentation and credit agreements
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities
- High integrity, intellectual curiosity, and collaborative mindset
