Pay Range: $81,475.00 - $118,181.00

General Purpose of the Position |
Responsible for performing or assisting in a variety of financial analysis functions including profitability analysis, budget preparation and reporting, preparing various compliance and financial performance reports and the compilation and analysis of data to be used by management and the Board of Directors when making operational and strategic decisions. Supports the credit union’s operating objectives by creating and maintaining accurate and relevant financial data and reports and preparing and presenting pertinent summaries, observations and recommendations. Additionally, this role contributes to various organizational projects, cross-department collaboration, and process improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following). May perform other duties as requested or assigned.
- Prepares and maintains specialized data and reports related to profitability measurement, cost and yield analyses, policy and regulatory compliance, liquidity monitoring, and credit quality reporting.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information and prepares historical analyses and forward-looking projections to support management and the Board of Directors in making operational and strategic decisions. Coordinates data gathering with other departments as needed.
- Designs, develops, and maintains complex SQL queries and dashboards in Tableau to support department initiatives and organizational goals.
- Prepares monthly calculations and supporting documents for the Allowance for Credit Loss (ACL), ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Assists with annual budget preparation and reporting and engages in quarterly budget meetings with leaders from all business units.
- Works with the Finance Manager to enhance existing systems and processes, using tools like spreadsheets, financial modeling software, and business intelligence platforms to improve financial analysis and reporting.
- Assists with maintaining the FP&A system, including branch profitability, report writing, and budget administration functions.
- Serves as an organizational resource for the production of ad hoc financial analysis to support departments across the credit union.
- Maintains and enhances the nCino system for loan portfolio analysis and reporting, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
- Assists with investment and derivative portfolio analysis, operations, monitoring, and collateral management.
- Assists in the preparation of various financial reports for internal and external purposes to comply with applicable standards, including regulatory requirements and GAAP.
- Provides guidance and training to others, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and skill development.
- Assists with departmental or organizational projects as directed by the Finance Manager, contributing to cross-functional initiatives.
- Compiles and organizes data and other information during regulatory reviews and audits, collaborating with auditors and examiners to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Develops an understanding of the strategic and tactical operations of the credit union, including understanding the needs of members, employees, and the credit union.
- Has a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Provides excellent service, demonstrating courtesy and personal concern for members’ and coworkers’ needs, and follows up to ensure those needs are met.
- Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.
- Responsible for compliance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Anti Money Laundering Act, including monitoring for such illegal activity as it applies to this position.
Requirements |
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (i.e. Economics, Mathematics or Business Administration). Advanced certifications such CPA, CFA or a master’s degree in a related field, or pursuit of one, is desirable.
3+ years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, or accounting within a credit union, bank, or financial institution.
Proficient in SQL with advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of Symitar, nCino, ProfiStar, and Tableau systems is beneficial.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Technical knowledge of accounting and financial concepts, practices, procedures and reports; strong analytical, problem-solving and financial analysis skills; ability to import and export data between various applications and spreadsheets. Experience with asset-liability management (ALM) and risk management reporting. Efficiency, accuracy and detail-oriented focus; ability to manage multiple projects, objectives and deadlines. Ability to apply oral, written and interpersonal skills that develop member, employee and volunteer confidence, respect and trust in Credit Union of Colorado and develop cooperative relationships with all levels of employees throughout the organization; ability to assist others. Understanding of related regulations, statutes, and filing requirements.
