Pay Range: $63,759 - $76,383

General Purpose of the Position
This hybrid role offers flexibility but requires 2-4 days per week at our corporate location(s), with the schedule based on onsite trainings, meetings, and events.
The Learning Specialist position at CUofCO is responsible for managing, designing, developing, coordinating, and delivering comprehensive training programs. This role includes overseeing the onboarding process for all new employees. The Learning Specialist will select appropriate training methods based on the situation, such as e-learning, onsite or virtual training, simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, and professional development classes. They will promote available training opportunities to employees and disseminate necessary information via the intranet and other communication tools.
Additional responsibilities include communicating with managers to identify training needs and developing plans for team and individual growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following). May perform other duties as requested or assigned.
· Conduct engaging and interactive in-person and virtual training sessions.
· Create and implement organizational training programs, whether outsourced or in-house, by choosing suitable training activities to achieve learning objectives. Examples include simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, and professional development classes.
· Apply education principles and keep current with new training methods and techniques.
· Conduct research and provide recommendations for new educational tools, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual reality applications, and artificial intelligence technologies.
· Collaborate with business units to design training content that meets business goals and supports process improvements.
· Facilitate training sessions for internal subject matter experts and On-the-Job Trainers (OJTs).
· Promote available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions.
· Perform thorough training needs assessments to identify skills or knowledge deficiencies that require attention.
· Assess the effectiveness of training programs by utilizing feedback, evaluations, and performance metrics to ensure they align with organizational objectives and support employee development.
· Monitor, track, and report on organization-wide training programs, as well as specialized training programs that address the learning and development needs of specific departments, positions, or functional areas.
· Maintain an in-depth knowledge of operating policies and procedures including CUOFCO products & services.
· Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
· Administer and maintain the department’s training rooms and digital tools including but not limited to the Learning Management System, course authoring tools, in addition to other digital learning platforms.
· Required to comply with NCUA regulations, register as a Mortgage Loan Originator, and maintain a current registration in accordance with the SAFE ACT.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
2+ years of proven work experience as an on-the job trainer, Training coordinator, Trainer, Training facilitator, or similar role. Hands on experience facilitating on-the job, instructor-led, or virtual training required; additional experience in instructional design, project management, or process improvement preferred.
A High School diploma or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proven ability to design and develop training programs using diverse methods including simulations, instructor-led training, and e-learning. Strong knowledge of financial regulations, policies, and compliance requirements a must. Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods and techniques. MS Office proficiency; adequate knowledge of learning management systems, knowledge management systems, and web delivery tools. Advanced organization and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to sit for long periods. The employee continually is required to talk or hear. The employee must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and reach with hands and arms regularly during facilitation sessions. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to [10] pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
