Indirect Funding Supervisor

Pay Range: $68,003- $83,173

General Purpose of the Position

The Indirect Funding Supervisor leads the daily operations of the Indirect Funding team, ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant funding and onboarding of indirect auto loans. This role develops high-performing staff, collaborates with internal partners and external vendors, and serves as an escalation point for complex funding issues. The Supervisor acts as a key liaison with dealerships, safeguards regulatory compliance, drives process improvement, and supports the Loan Servicing Manager in achieving departmental goals and delivering exceptional member experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following).  May perform other duties as requested or assigned.

  • Provide Leadership and Staff Development
    • Hire, coach, mentor and evaluate Indirect Funding Specialists and Senior Indirect Funding Specialists to foster a culture of service excellence, teamwork, and accountability.
    • Plan, assign, and supervise daily workflow; identify skill gaps and implement targeted training programs.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, set measurable goals, ensure service levels are met, and create individualized department plans.
  • Oversee Indirect Loan Funding Operations
    • Ensure timely, accurate processing of all indirect loans, including payment setup and membership onboarding.
    • Conduct quality control checks on loan and membership documentation submitted by dealerships.
    • Collaborate with underwriting, loan servicing, and accounting teams to ensure seamless loan boarding.
    • Maintain strong, professional dealer relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution.
  • Champion Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations- including FACTA, BSA/AML, Regulation Z, Regulation B, MLA, SCRA- and credit union policies.
    • Update procedures, forms, and internal documentation to reflect changes in regulations or best practices.
    • Identify and mitigate risks related to funding; escalate material concerns to the Loan Servicing Manager.
  • Drive Vendor and Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Serve as a key stakeholder for funding-related vendor relationships, coordinating updates, troubleshooting issues, and enhancing workflows.
    • Collaborate with Consumer Lending Underwriters, Member Solutions, Risk Management and other teams to resolve complex issues and improve the overall member experience.
  • Lead Process Improvement and Reporting
    • Champion automation, process improvement, and procedure updates to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
    • Prepare and present reports on funding volumes, exceptions, fund delays, dealer performance, and productivity metrics.
    • Support new member onboarding and promote additional loan products or services when appropriate.
    • Address escalated member concerns with professionalism and timely resolution, including root-cause analysis and follow-up.
  • Project and Administrative Support
    • Execute special projects and initiatives assigned by the Loan Servicing Manager.
    • Safeguard confidential member and organizational data in accordance with security standards.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A minimum of four years’ indirect loan funding experience within a financial institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Two years of supervisory experience preferred; Knowledge of credit-bureau reporting red flags, lien management, indirect dealership agreements, and loan documentation.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Understanding of Credit Union’s field of membership. Thorough knowledge and understanding of CU of CO’s services and products; of Credit Union laws, rules, and regulations affecting credit union activities. Knowledge in real estate valuation software, property assessments, and appraisals. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting CU of CO’s policies and procedures. Demonstrated effective management and leadership skills to select, motivate, develop, and supervise assigned personnel. Ability to apply verbal and interpersonal skills that develop member confidence, respect and trust in CU of CO; establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative officials, all levels of people throughout the organization, and the public. Knowledge of Regulation Z, Regulation B, BSA, Servicemembers’ Civil Relief Act, Military Lending Act and Real Estate compliance. Understanding and experience working in indirect auto loan market, data analytics, and audit analytics.
