JOB SUMMARY
Cresco Labs is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to join our growing team. The EHS Manager will have jurisdiction over the development and implementation of company-wide safety programs, traveling where required. You will ensure site operations comply with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations and standards. You will investigate incidences and recommend process improvements to prevent further incidences, liaising directly with local facility leadership. You will educate employees on best safety practices and advise employees on safety performance improvements.
CORE JOB DUTIES
- Own and review training content and material development.
- Perform safety audits, site inspections, training and records audits and OSHA compliance.
- Reviews and completes OSHA required reporting of injuries; leads process of OSHA response inquiries and/or investigations.
- Use investigation material and strong presentation skills to influence the adoption of changes to operational processes, safety enhancements, and other corrective actions with facility leadership.
- Review trends in incident data and drive policy, procedure and program changes with COE and leadership.
- Advise functional areas regarding safety protocols and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal agencies.
- Conduct regular training to facility staff where required.
- Respond to escalated emergency situations involving employee injury and property damage incidents; prepares reports of findings and submits recommendations.
- Develop cost-effective approaches to achieve EHS compliance within budget; approve budgetary asks of site staff
- Assist project team members with all safety concerns from the field.
- Participate in the development and implementation of corporate-wide safety programs such as Hazardous Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory Protection, Fire Prevention and other OSHA safety compliance programs.
- Foster a learning culture through near-miss reporting, safety observations, incident investigations and other learning forums both with site staff and internal EHS teams.
- Facilitate safety committee meetings and other employee engagement initiatives
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, engineering, or related field
- 4-8 years previous experience in comprehensive workplace safety and compliance programs
- Solid knowledge of state and local statutes and ordinances on fire safety and prevention, respiratory protection, hazardous chemicals, building, electrical, noise pollution and the environment
- Knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 preferred
- Proficient computer skills in the Microsoft office suite (Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Outlook, and Excel)
- Strong presentation and persuasiveness skills
- Extremely detail oriented
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Adaptability and efficiency suitable to a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel to other facilities
