JOB SUMMARY

Cresco Labs is seeking a highly organized Production Manager to oversee day-to-day functions of the Processing, and Packaging areas. This role ensures seamless production flow, product quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The Production Manager will report to the Senior Manager of Operations and will work closely with cross-functional teams, including safety, quality, sales, scheduling, and facilities, to meet organizational goals and maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and productivity.  

CORE JOB DUTIES 

Operational Management: 

  • Responsible for management of Supervisors, Leads, and Agents in the packaging, and processing departments. Delegate tasks, manage schedules, payroll, performance evaluations and corrective actions. 
  • Serve as a role model and resource for production staff regarding product knowledge, industry updates, and policy adherence. 
  • Oversee setup and transition of workstations, ensuring smooth operations for staff and efficient task execution. 
  • Monitor and report data on production metrics, inventory levels, and efficiency to the Senior Manager, Operations. 
  • Coordinate with upper management on critical updates, resources, and operational improvements. 
  • Engage with line-level employees, Supervisors, and Leads to implement process improvements to enhance safety, product quality, food safety, and employee morale. 
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Operations in management of department budget 

Quality & Compliance: 

  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with State and Cresco Labs standards, including employee, material, and crop records. 
  • Collaborate with quality and inventory control teams to maintain labeling accuracy, inventory compliance, and other regulatory requirements. 
  • Conduct quarterly and annual reviews of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and update processes in alignment with regulatory changes. 
  • Manage raw and bulk materials, ensuring accurate inventory levels to support production demands. 
  • Coordinate with the Materials and Sr. Maintenance Manager for supply line management, maintenance scheduling, and resource allocation. 
  • Monitor safety protocols and address potential hazards promptly, promoting a safe work environment maintaining work areas in accordance with relevant regulations and safety codes according to the GMP program. 
  • Work with the Master Scheduler to optimize and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet timelines and production targets. 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS  

  • 3-5 years of management experience in a large-scale agriculture or production facility. 
  • Knowledge of production, manufacturing processes, and plant cultivation operations. 
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts cannabis regulations. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.  
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel, database management, and other Windows-based software. 
  • Critical-thinking, problem-solving, and planning skills, with a high attention to detail. 
  • Effective time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic environment. 
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, sitting, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements. 
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and comfortable working in an environment with exposure to dust and pollen.   
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in operations, supply chain, business management, or related field preferred 
  • Minimum of 3 years in management with experience running large, complex cross-functional organizations 
  • Experience in a plant cultivation setting, production line environment, GMP/SQF/OSHA/ISO; cannabis industry experience, a plus 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to provide clear direction, to manage and track progress, and communicate outcomes 
  • Experience leading and organization in a highly regulated environment 
  • Effective solutions-based attitude and team-focused management style 
  • Strong ability to multitask and work through constant interruption in a fast-paced environment 
  • Comfortable in a start-up environment- willingness and interest to roll up sleeves 
  • Proven experience in implementing and maintaining systems and processes 
  • Proficient in all Office Suites (Google, Microsoft Office) and ability to learn seed-to-sale tracking system

In accordance with any local and state compensation laws, the compensation listed is the current estimated range for the position. Final offer details and future compensation may be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to, geographic location, market compensation data, skills, experience, and other relevant factors. Pay Range

$76,500 - $104,500 USD
