About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to join our growing legal team as a key strategic partner to the business. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned, business-minded attorney who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and wants to help shape how legal supports scale at an AI-first company.
As a senior member of the legal team and our third counsel hire, you will take ownership of Cresta’s commercial contracting function while serving as a trusted advisor to Sales, Finance, Product, Security, and Customer Success leaders. You will play a critical role in enabling revenue growth, managing risk, and building durable legal infrastructure that scales with the company.
This role offers significant visibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to influence both strategy and execution across the organization.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and independently negotiate, draft, and advise on complex commercial agreements, including MSAs, NDAs, SOWs, order forms, channel and reseller agreements, and strategic enterprise deals
- Act as a senior legal partner to Sales and Revenue leadership, balancing risk management with deal velocity and customer experience
- Provide expert guidance on data privacy, security, and regulatory matters, including GDPR, CCPA, and evolving global privacy frameworks relevant to AI and SaaS businesses
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Security, Finance, and Operations to support product launches, go-to-market initiatives, and customer commitments
- Design, build, and continuously improve scalable contracting processes, templates, and negotiation playbooks to increase efficiency and consistency
- Help drive broader legal initiatives including compliance programs, policy development, and legal operations improvements
- Support a diverse range of legal matters beyond commercial work, including vendor agreements, employment matters, product counseling, and corporate governance, as needed
- Serve as a mentor and thought partner within the legal team as it continues to grow
What We’re Looking For:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5-7+ years of legal experience, with deep expertise negotiating sophisticated commercial technology agreements
- Significant in-house experience at a SaaS, AI, or high-growth technology company strongly preferred
- Strong command of data privacy, security, and regulatory frameworks impacting modern tech businesses; privacy certifications (CIPP, CIPM, or similar) are a plus
- Proven ability to operate as a strategic, business-oriented advisor—not just a contract reviewer
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with confidence working directly with senior leaders
- Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Self-directed and solutions-oriented, with a bias toward ownership and impact
Perks & Benefits:
We offer a comprehensive and people-first benefits package to support you at work and in life:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with plans to fit you and your family
- Flexible PTO to take the time you need, when you need it
- Paid parental leave for all new parents welcoming a new child
- Retirement savings plan to help you plan for the future
- Remote work setup budget to help you create a productive home office
- Monthly wellness and communication stipend to keep you connected and balanced
- In-office meal program and commuter benefits provided for onsite employees
Compensation at Cresta:

Compensation for this position includes: Base Salary + Equity.
Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
