Senior Billing Specialist
Copper River Shared Services is seeking a Sr. Billing Specialist that will be responsible for performing tasks related to the efficient preparation and processing of all phases of billing invoices in a timely and accurate manner as well as collection and application of accounts receivable.
This position would be a hybrid schedule located in our Chantilly, VA office.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Invoice Preparation:
- Create and submit invoices based on project data and contract terms.
- Ensure accuracy of invoice amounts, rates, and deductions.
- Adhere to government regulations (e.g., FAR, CAS) for government contracts.
- Billing System Management:
- Maintain and update project billing information in Deltek Costpoint.
- Configure billing rules and workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate reports on billing metrics, aged receivables, and collections activity.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Customer Communication:
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
- Resolve billing disputes and discrepancies.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in accounting standards.
Requirements:
- Education:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience:
- Deltek Costpoint expertise: Minimum 5-year proficiency in using Deltek Costpoint for billing and project management.
- Experience with Government billing platforms such as IPP, GSA Delphi, and WAWF/iRAPT.
- Experience with FFP, T&M, Cost reimbursable, and Milestone invoices
- Accounting knowledge: Understanding of accounting principles, especially related to revenue recognition and cost allocation.
- Analytical skills: Ability to analyze data and identify trends.
- Strong communication skills: Effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
- Attention to detail: Accuracy and precision in data entry and calculations.
- Experience with government contracting (e.g., FAR, CAS, DCAA)
- Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of other ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP)
- Experience with contract management software
