Site Safety and Quality Control Manager (Construction)
Coho Construction Management is looking for a Quality / Safety Manager to join our team. The manager will be responsible for the US Embassy, Algiers, Algeria Façade Replacement project to include but not limited to: “cradle to grave” construction project management, Quality and Safety.
.Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain a pro-active safety and quality program to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards
- Establish and maintain a quality control plan and ensure all services provided comply with minimum quality standards and approved plan.
- Establish and maintain site safety plan and ensure all activities on project sites comply with the approved plan
- Evaluate and improve site quality and safety via direct daily interaction with subcontractor personnel
- Provide daily safety briefings to subcontractor staff and enforce PPE requirements
- Interpret and enforce working from scaffolding safety
- Prepare and submit fall plans, AHAs and other safety plans as required
- Ensure all DoS/OBO reporting and QC management modules in ProjNet are thoroughly established and maintained throughout the project
- Maintain project Quality and Safety logs
- Prepare and track services provided, deliverables and submittals
- Maintain project document control system
- Draft and track project related Request for Information for submissions
- Assist the project and program managers with pre-construction services to ensure client’s needs are met as project development takes place.
- Manage project related risk to insure they do not adversely impact project or DoS/OBO
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction with respect to work and activities taking plan on the project and address any deficiencies as needed.
- Interaction with subcontractors, customers, and team members with excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor of Science Construction Management or Engineering preferred, or 15 years trade / construction field experience will be considered
- Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 15 years’ experience as a Foreman, Superintendent or Project manager
- Must have 5 years as a Quality / Safety Manager
- Prior OCONUS experience working on an USACE, DOD or DoS/OBO projects
- Must be Construction Quality Management (CQM) certified or willing to obtain this certificate within 90 days of hire
- Must be OSHA 30 Construction Safety certified or willing to obtain this certificate within 90 days of hire
- Must be EM 385-1-1 Safety certified or willing to obtain this certificate within 90 days of hire
- Must have a valid United States passport with more than 1 year remaining from the expiration date.
- Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience executing U.S. Military DOD, USACE, DoS/OBO projects and programs
- Certified Project Manager – PMI/PMP (Project Management Institute / Project Manager Professional)
- Construction Quality Management (CQM) certified
- OSHA 30 Construction Safety certified
- EM 385-1-1 Safety certified
Other Responsibilities:
Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract
