Nursing Assistant
COHO Integrated Solutions is seeking a qualified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate care to veterans who have served our country. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple campuses within the Department of Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Livermore) in a variety of settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and community living centers. As a Nursing Assistant you'll be at the forefront of patient care, ensuring both the physical and emotional well-being of the veterans you serve.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide essential care in a variety of clinical settings.
- Measure and record vital signs.
- Monitor pain levels and report any significant changes to the RN or healthcare provider.
- Assist with patient assessments, ensuring accurate and timely information is shared with the healthcare team
- Provide hands-on patient care including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Support patients in maintaining comfort through repositioning, administering prescribed comfort measures, and managing patient needs promptly.
- Assist with patient hygiene and grooming, ensuring dignity and comfort during personal care routines.
- Accurately record vital signs, treatments, procedures, and any other relevant information in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
- Ensure that all information is clearly documented, organized, and available for review by the care team.
- Maintain up-to-date patient records in line with established healthcare standards and regulations.
- Transport patients to and from examinations, diagnostic tests, and therapy sessions as needed.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Citizenship:
- Proof of US Citizenship is required to work on this contract.
- Education/Certifications:
- Must hold a current, full and unrestricted nursing assistant license in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent.
- Required Knowledge/Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years recent nursing assistant experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate patients effectively.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, specifically CPRS.
Position Pay Range
$25 - $25 USD
