Sr. Project Manager
Coho Technology Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Project Manager to lead the modernization of an Air Force legacy IT FMS system to a modern cloud-based architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, business analysis, user acceptance testing (UAT), and Change Management. This role requires expertise in IT modernization, stakeholder management, and working background within a structured Air Force PMO.
The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for driving project execution, ensuring business alignment, mitigating risks, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet user and organizational needs.
Responsibilities:
Project Management & Governance:
- Lead end-to-end modernization project, ensuring alignment with PMO standards and SAFe Agile best practices.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and status reports.
- Manage risks, dependencies, and change control processes throughout the modernization effort.
- Serve as the liaison between technical teams, Air Force FMS leaders, and FMS stakeholders.
- Ensure project milestones are met on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Business Analysis & Functional Expertise:
- When needed, conduct business process analysis to document legacy system functions and define future-state cloud-based workflows.
- Using an agile approach, collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate functional and technical requirements.
- Assist in developing business cases, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses.
- Work with system architects and development team to ensure the cloud solution aligns with business objectives.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) & Quality Assurance:
- Develop and oversee the UAT strategy, test scripts, and execution plans.
- Coordinate with business users to ensure UAT objectives are met, and defects are tracked/resolved.
- Facilitate user training, change management, and adoption of the new cloud-based system.
- Ensure system testing aligns with business needs and compliance requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for business leaders, end-users, and IT teams.
- Conduct regular status meetings, executive briefings, and stakeholder communications.
- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and third-party service providers.
- Ensure organizational change management is effectively incorporated into the modernization process.
Requirements:
Clearance:
- Must be able to pass a Background Check
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or like field.
- SAFe, PMP, or like certification preferred
Required Skills/ Qualifications:
- 5+ years background and experience in managing major IT project transformations within a cloud environment, or related area
Desired Skills/ Qualifications:
- Experience working in a government contracting environment (preferred).
