Cisco Identity Services Engineer
COHO Technology Solutions is seeking a Cisco Identity Services Engineer who supports our customer in securing and managing enterprise network access through Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). This role is critical to implementing Zero Trust architecture, enhancing network segmentation, and ensuring only authorized users and devices access sensitive systems. The engineer plays a key role in the design, deployment, and management of secure access control policies and supports the customer’s mission of strengthening cyber defenses across the enterprise.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Design, configure, and maintain Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to support network access control and authentication policies

Implement and manage 802.1X, MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB), and guest services

Integrate ISE with Active Directory and other identity providers

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve ISE-related issues and logs

Maintain accurate documentation of access control policies, configurations, and procedures

Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies in alignment with Zero Trust principles

Perform ongoing maintenance and upgrades to ISE appliances and supporting infrastructure

Collaborate with network, security, and endpoint teams to align identity and access control with broader security objectives

Participate in audits, security assessments, and compliance reviews related to network access

Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations on access control best practices
Essential Job Requirements:

- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications such as Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate, CCNP Security, or Cisco ISE-specific training are highly desirable
- Experience:
- 5–7 years of experience in network security or identity/access management, with at least 3 years specifically working with Cisco ISE in enterprise or government environments.
- Deep understanding of Cisco ISE architecture, configuration, and policy management.
- Strong knowledge of RADIUS, TACACS+, 802.1X, and certificate-based authentication.
- Experience integrating ISE with Active Directory, PKI, and endpoint protection platforms.
- Familiarity with Cisco switches, routers, and wireless controllers for enforcement configuration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to analyze logs and packet captures.
- Experience supporting Zero Trust or segmentation initiatives is a plus.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
