Quality Control Manager
Copper River Infrastructure Services is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to oversee quality assurance activities across all phases of construction projects in accordance with USACE standards. The QC Manager will implement and maintain the project’s Quality Control Plan, lead progress meetings, manage submittals and RFIs, and ensure full compliance with contract specifications, safety requirements, and USACE guidelines. This role requires strong technical expertise, proactive leadership, and excellent communication skills.
This position is located in Santiago, Chile.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Implement, monitor, and continually update the Quality Control Plan.
- Perform control phases and testing to ensure all work complies with project specifications and construction drawings.
- Review contract requirements, specifications, and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
- Ensure provisions are in place for all required control testing and inspections.
- Schedule and conduct 3-Phase Preparatory Meetings.
- Conduct bi-weekly progress meetings with USACE representatives.
- Issue daily QC reports detailing project progress, observations, and compliance status.
- Perform inspections during each site visit and issue corresponding reports.
- Re-inspect areas of non-conformance and verify corrective actions.
- Examine work areas to confirm appropriate completion of preliminary activities.
- Maintain and update Trade Contractor Conformance/Non-Conformance Logs.
- Review all preconstruction submittals for completeness and accuracy prior to USACE submission.
- Prepare and review Requests for Information (RFIs) and ensure all RFIs are fully addressed for each definable feature of work.
- Verify all submittal packages are approved and ready for implementation.
- Coordinate with outside testing agencies as required to support project needs.
Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Clearance:
- Proof of US Citizenship is required to work on this contract.
- Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Completion of the Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors course (preferred).
- EM 385-1-1, CQM, Certificate.
- Required Experience:
- 10+ years of combined experience in construction roles such as Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Engineer, Project Manager, or Construction Manager.
- 5+ years of general construction experience.
- 4+ years of experience specifically as a QC Manager
- Skills and Competencies
- Strong background in hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability practices.
- In-depth working knowledge of RMS (Resident Management System).
- Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 safety requirements.
- Strong computer proficiency, including construction documentation platforms.
- Proficiency in MS Project scheduling.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and quality focus.
- Self-motivated, proactive, detail-driven, enthusiastic, and collaborative; able to take initiative in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with subcontractors, project teams, and customers.
- Willingness to travel between job sites as project needs require.
