Maintenance Technician (Welding Repair
ReconCraft is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician (Welding Repair) specializing in welding equipment repair and industrial machine maintenance in Clackamas, OR. This position is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining over 70 production machines and welding systems to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.
The candidate is mechanically inclined, experienced in industrial maintenance environments, and capable of independently diagnosing complex machine issues while supporting the overall maintenance team with facility and equipment needs. This role is heavily focused on welding and fabrication equipment maintenance, with additional responsibilities supporting electrical systems, cranes, forklifts, and facility infrastructure.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Welding & Production Equipment Maintenance (Approximately 80%)
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair welding machines, fabrication equipment, and industrial production machinery.
- Perform preventative maintenance on MIG, TIG, plasma tables, saws, grinders, presses, and other fabrication equipment.
- Identify root causes of machine failures and implement long-term corrective solutions.
- Maintain production uptime by responding quickly and effectively to machine breakdowns.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate machine repairs and communicate downtime updates with production leadership.
- Maintain maintenance records, repair logs, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, efficiency, and shop organization.
- Assist in inventory management of maintenance parts, consumables, and repair materials.
Facility & Team Support (Approximately 20%)
- Support maintenance crew with wiring, troubleshooting, and facility electrical repairs.
- Assist with overhead crane maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Assist with shop infrastructure projects and continuous improvement efforts.
- Help maintain safe working conditions throughout the facility.
- Work closely with fabrication, machining, and production departments to support operational needs.
Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Required Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 10 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
- Strong experience troubleshooting welding equipment and industrial machinery
- Forklift, crane, or rigging experience preferred
- Welding and fabrication experience is highly preferred
- Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of electrical systems, motors, controls, and industrial wiring
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Time management and prioritization
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, kneel, climb, and work in industrial environments for extended periods
- Comfortable working around heavy equipment, welding operations, and loud manufacturing environments
