
Engineering Technician
Coho Technology Solutions is seeking a technically qualified Engineering Technician to provide continuous project and client liaison support for the execution of Type III and Type IV facilities projects, coordinating with clients, Public Works shops, designated contractors, and other project stakeholders in Norfolk, VA. The position will assist with developing task orders, project scopes, schedules, estimates, funding coordination, and project execution strategies while ensuring work is performed safely, within budget, and in accordance with customer and project requirements.
The successful candidate will also provide administrative and technical coordination support, maintain project files and records, track actions and correspondence, and use applicable software applications—including MAXIMO and Microsoft Office—to support day-to-day project requirements.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Provide technical and project coordination support for facilities maintenance, repair, and construction activities.
- Provide continuous client liaison support for Type III and Type IV projects, ensuring client needs and expectations are communicated throughout project execution.
- Coordinate project activities with in-house Public Works shops, designated contractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with the development of task orders, project scopes, project schedules, and cost estimates.
- Participate in work induction meetings and represent client requirements and expectations associated with reimbursable work.
- Coordinate associated project funding and assist with monitoring project execution against established requirements.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, action logs, correspondence, records, and other required documentation.
- Ensure project files contain required documentation and that applicable documents are properly completed and signed.
- Provide project status information, suspense dates, and other non-technical information to authorized personnel.
- Support the preparation of project and contract modification cost estimates using available estimating tools, independent research, and professional experience.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure schedules, cost estimates, project strategies, and execution plans are accurate and achievable.
- Execute assigned project activities safely, within established budgets, and in accordance with project and customer requirements.
Administrative & Technical Support
- Use advanced and varied functions of applicable software suites, including MAXIMO, email, spreadsheets, calendars, databases, and word-processing applications.
- Select appropriate software applications based on assignment requirements, functional capabilities, limitations, and the desired end product.
- Transmit, receive, acknowledge, and appropriately route electronic communications and messages.
- Develop distribution and group lists to support organizational information requirements.
- Maintain subject-matter files and records relating to organizational activities.
- Maintain logs tracking the status of actions, correspondence, and other project-related requirements.
- Provide information regarding project status, reports, suspense dates, and compliance matters while exercising appropriate judgment concerning information sensitivity and authorization.
- Maintain working-level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications appropriate to assigned responsibilities.
Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Clearance:

- Required Experience:
- Demonstrated experience directly related to the engineering, facilities, project coordination, maintenance, repair, or construction functions assigned under the contract
- Experience supporting facilities-related projects and coordinating activities among multiple stakeholders is highly desirable
- Experience developing or supporting project scopes, schedules, estimates, task orders, and related documentation is preferred
- Ability to coordinate project activities while maintaining schedule, budget, safety, and customer requirements
- Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of MAXIMO and applicable facilities management systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including spreadsheets, email, calendars, databases, and word processing
- Ability to maintain accurate project records, logs, correspondence, and documentation
- Ability to develop and track schedules and project milestones
- Ability to support cost estimating using available tools, research, and professional experience
- Strong organizational, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to evaluate information requirements and appropriately handle sensitive information based on the requestor's authority
Position Pay Range
$30 - $35 USD
