Cribl is looking for a Senior Performance Engineer. We are a fast-growing, remote-first company with a mission to unlock the value of all observability data. As An Active Member Of Our Team, You Will…
- Design and implement performance testing plans for complex services and features to validate scalability, reliability, and stability.
- Develop, execute, and analyze performance tests to identify bottlenecks and unusual system behaviors.
- Investigate performance and scalability issues and collaborate closely with development teams to deliver targeted improvements.
- Enhance and maintain existing tools and frameworks to streamline performance testing and make it easier for development teams to adopt.
- Contribute to integration efforts within our continuous testing systems, automation tools (e.g., Playwright), and reporting of performance metrics.
- Collaborate across QA, DevOps, and product teams to embed performance considerations early in the software lifecycle.
- This position may require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties.
If You've Got It - We Want It
- 5+ years software development experience, any programming language is acceptable
- Ability to independently write working code in TypeScript/JavaScript (preferred) or Java, Groovy, or Python, with a willingness to transition to TypeScript.
- Expertise in designing and developing performance tests, especially with data intensive applications and/or data streams processing
- Expertise in identifying and investigating performance issues
- Hands-on experience with Cloud (AWS, Azure preferred) and Docker is a must
- Hands on experience with CI/CD
- Knowledge and understanding of resource management in Linux or windows is a must
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; able to explain complex technical topics to both internal and external stakeholders with ease and in remote/distributed environments
