CJA is looking for a Recruitment Coordinator to join our growing team who is passionate about applicant tracking and ensuring an effective applicant experience. 

 

ABOUT CJA 

 The New York City Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) is a not-for-profit service and research organization that operates in partnership with the New York City Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice.  CJA is the City’s main pretrial services agency, combining operations, pilot projects, and research under one roof.  CJA utilizes procedural justice practices to provide pretrial services to over 100,000 persons arrested annually in New York City. Information collected about these arrestees and subsequent case processing is maintained in the agency’s internal and externally shared database systems, which are used to conduct descriptive and evaluation research on arrestee characteristics, case processing and court outcomes, and on issues and potential reforms to criminal justice policy in New York City. CJA’s programs operate in the criminal courts and detention facilities 24 hours a day seven days a week within the 5 boroughs of NYC, employing over 300  employees citywide.   

PROGRAM SUMMARY 

The organization’s People & Culture team manages the Human Resource functions for the Agency’s 300 + staff members city-wide, including recruitment, onboarding, orientation, employee relations, benefits and compensation, professional development, workplace health and safety and compliance. Approximately 30% of the organization’s work force is unionized line staff providing 24-hour coverage for our operations.  POSITION SUMMARY 

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition and Engagement Manager, the Recruitment Coordinator is tasked with executing administrative coordination and support of the Recruitment department by aiding on a transactional level for various functions within the department. Core involvement includes ATS functionality, administrative support, and follow-up on recruited candidates. This role is critical in helping us to build, manage and scale high-impact recruitment solutions across the Agency.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support Recruitment Manager in maximizing the use of the ATS to create a more efficient applicant experience and user interface.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with hiring managers, providing timely guidance and support throughout the hiring process.
  • Follow up with Hiring Managers to ensure timely submission of applicant scorecards.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to new and existing users on the effective use of Greenhouse.
  • Run reports using ATS for Recruitment Manager on a routine basis to track recruitment trends, goals, and targets.
  • Formatting, publishing and unpublishing job postings via Greenhouse.
  • Posted job roles promptly while maintaining accurate interview plans and scorecards.
  • Analyze recruiting data and metrics using Excel and Greenhouse. 
  • Track job requisition workflow to ensure all steps are completed.
  • Scheduling and coordinating recruitment meetings with hiring teams and Stakeholders.
  • Handle HR related recruitment inquiries to support internship and college recruitment partnerships.
  • Supports Recruitment Manager with sourcing for hard to fill and specialized roles.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires and support employee engagement initiatives by assisting with orientation, recognition programs, engagement events, and communications that enhance the employee experience while partnering with hiring managers to ensure a smooth transition from candidate to employee.
  • Attends job fairs as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management or similar title preferred or 2 years of experience in a recruitment coordinator role
  • Must have experience working in an ATS posting jobs, running reports, and tracking recruitment workflow. Greenhouse experience is preferred
  • MS Office proficiency, specifically related to Word, Excel and PowerPoint specifically creating and editing documents in MS Word; using Excel for spreadsheets with numeric calculations and charts and PowerPoint for dynamic presentations.

SALARY: $65,000 – $70,000 

LOCATION: New York, NY 

*Internal applicants must be in their current role for at least 1 year and in good standing (no disciplinary action within 90 days) to be eligible for this role.
