At Lipton Law, the Director of Operations plays a crucial role in ensuring the firm operates with efficiency, clarity, and excellence. As the architect of our organizational structure, you will develop and refine workflows, optimize firm-wide processes, and drive strategic initiatives that enhance both internal operations and client service. Your leadership will empower attorneys and staff by creating streamlined systems that reduce inefficiencies, improve collaboration, and support the firm’s continued growth. This role is pivotal in maintaining our high standards of legal service, fostering a culture of accountability, and positioning Lipton Law as a leader in operational excellence within the legal industry.



What you’ll do:

  • SOP & Workflow Optimization: Develop, refine, and enforce standardized procedures to streamline operations, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve efficiency across all departments.
  • Performance Metrics & Audits: Establish firm KPIs, implement tracking systems, and conduct regular audits to measure efficiency, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Growth & Project Management: Collaborate with leadership to identify growth opportunities, scale operations, and drive long-term success. Lead high-impact projects that enhance client service, improve profitability, and ensure successful execution with measurable outcomes.
  • Team Alignment & Communication: Establish recurring meetings, audits, and reviews to ensure operational alignment, improve collaboration, and maintain clear communication between lawyers, staff, and clients.
  • Recruitment & Employee Development: Oversee recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes to ensure the firm attracts and retains top talent. Implement development programs, conduct performance reviews, and create growth opportunities to build a strong and capable team.
  • Accountability & Culture Building: Foster a positive, high-performing work environment by addressing conflicts, promoting accountability, and strengthening team cohesion. Ensure adherence to firm policies, document employee issues, and manage PTO and leave requests to maintain fairness and consistency.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Oversee vendor contracts, negotiate cost-saving agreements, and manage annual insurance renewals to ensure optimal coverage and financial efficiency.
  • Financial Performance & Cost Control: Conduct financial reviews, implement cost-control measures, and develop an easy-to-read financial dashboard to track profitability, resource allocation, and operational efficiency.
  • Payment & Financial Process Optimization: Streamline payment workflows, improve bookkeeping systems, and ensure seamless financial operations for improved accuracy and transparency.
  • Information Technology Management: Oversee the implementation and utilization of legal technology solutions, including case management software like Filevine, to streamline operations and improve efficiency.​
  • Facilities & Building Management: Oversee the maintenance and operational efficiency of the firm’s building, including the lower-level office spaces, while coordinating with existing managers and vendors to ensure smooth facility operations.


What we’re looking for: 

  • Experience: At least 5+ years in operations management, with at least 2 years at the director level, preferably in a legal setting.​
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record in leading teams, managing cross-functional processes, and driving organizational change.​
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify potential business blind spots and preemptively devise solutions. Adept at critical thinking and analysis to foresee and resolve challenges before they escalate into problems.​
  • Culture & Team Leadership: Proven ability to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and teamwork, ensuring a high-performing and cohesive work environment.
  • Technology Proficiency: Strong understanding of current technological trends and tools relevant to legal operations. Ability to leverage technology for improving operational efficiency.
