We are now hiring a Legal Assistant to ensure the smooth execution of our criminal defense cases by supporting intake, case preparation, and administrative processes through resolution. In this role, you will handle scheduling, drafting, filing, and file organization while coordinating closely with attorneys and case managers, and assisting clients during the intake process. What you’ll do:
- Case & Calendar Management: Maintain firm-wide calendaring for hearings, deadlines, and filings. Coordinate with attorneys and court staff to ensure timely attendance, prevent scheduling conflicts, and eliminate missed settings through proactive tracking and real-time updates.
- Legal Document Execution: Draft and file high-stakes legal documents—including motions, subpoenas, notices, and correspondence—with a focus on legal accuracy, procedural compliance, and time-sensitive delivery.
- Client Communication & Support: Assist with the intake process by gathering essential information and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. Support the legal team by preparing case files and fostering clarity through accurate documentation and organized communication.
- Digital Systems & File Management: Organize and maintain detailed digital case files using platforms like Filevine, LeadDocket, and Google Workspace. Ensure documents are current, accessible, and aligned with internal SOPs and case milestones.
- Attorney & Case Manager Support: Work hand-in-hand with attorneys and case managers to streamline case flow from intake through resolution. Execute assigned legal and administrative tasks with urgency, accuracy, and discretion.
What we’re looking for:
- Legal and Client Service Experience: 1–2 years of experience in legal or client-focused roles. Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes legal settings while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Written & Verbal Communication: Strong communicator with a knack for drafting clear legal correspondence, coordinating client updates, and relaying key information to attorneys and case managers. Known for professionalism and empathy in every interaction.
- Organizational Agility: Highly skilled in multitasking, prioritizing, and executing tasks under pressure. Brings sharp attention to detail and a calm, focused presence to chaotic or emotionally charged situations.
- Technology Fluency & Tools: Confident in navigating digital tools and case management platforms. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Google Workspace, and quick to adapt to new systems like Filevine and LeadDocket.
- Integrity & Discretion: Trusted to handle sensitive case information with care. Operates with a strong sense of confidentiality, judgment, and client-first professionalism at every stage of case support.

Additional perks:
- Compensation: $42,000–$52,000, depending on experience.
- Benefits: Health insurance, generous PTO, federal holidays, and 401(k) with 6% match after one year.
