Justin Camper Law is a trial-ready criminal defense practice serving Northern Indiana from multiple regional offices. We handle a broad spectrum of matters from routine DUIs and misdemeanors to complex felony and sex-crime defenses bringing steady courtroom experience and clear guidance to every case. Our team prioritizes giving clients realistic options, timely communication, and vigorous representation during some of the most stressful moments of their lives.

Justin Camper Law is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join the executive team and drive operational excellence across our multi-office practice. This newly created, high-impact role will partner directly with the firm’s Managing Partner to build SOPs, establish meaningful KPIs, extract and normalize data across offices, and implement scalable systems that make the firm more profitable, automated, and client-centric. The role requires a data-driven mindset, strong executive presence, and the ability to work autonomously while coordinating across administrative teams and attorneys.

What you’ll do:

Operational Strategy & SOPs

  • Design, document, and roll out firm-wide standard operating procedures (intake → case setup → case progression → file closing).
  • Standardize workflows across offices and ensure consistent adoption through training and audits.

Data, Reporting & KPI Ownership

  • Extract, clean, and consolidate data from case-management and intake systems to produce weekly/monthly dashboards (lead source, intake volume, case closures, revenue per office, review tracking).
  • Define KPIs aligned to the firm’s priorities -  profitable, automated, and client-centric - and hold teams accountable to those targets.

Cross-Office Coordination & Process Improvement

  • Float across locations as an operational executive: identify bottlenecks, recommend solutions, and drive implementation without requiring direct line management of every admin.
  • Lead projects to increase automation, reduce manual work, and elevate client experience (forms automation, handoff checklists, escalation protocols).

People & Culture Partnership

  • Work with the firm administrator, paralegals, and attorneys to ensure onboarding, training, and performance processes are in place and used consistently.
  • Coach staff on process adherence and help create a collaborative, accountable culture that supports fast, sustainable growth.
  • When needed, serve as the firm’s operational representative for high-touch client issues - investigate concerns, coordinate with attorneys and staff to identify root causes, communicate status and remediation plans to clients, and convert lessons learned into process improvements to prevent recurrence.

Vendor & Systems Management

  • Manage relationships with key vendors (IT, phone systems, document vendors) and own improvements in the tech stack and integrations (Clio experience preferred but teachable).

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven Operations Experience: 4–7+ years in an operations or program-management role (legal, professional services, or high-volume client operations preferred). Demonstrated track record of implementing SOPs and measurable process improvements.
  • Data & Systems Fluency: Strong ability to pull and manipulate data (from Clio or similar CMS/CRM), build simple dashboards, and turn metrics into action. You don’t just ask for data - you get it and interpret it.
  • Executive Presence & Autonomy: Comfortable operating as an executive-level contributor, working independently, influencing partners, and driving cross-functional change with minimal oversight.
  • Project Management & Change Leadership: Proven skills launching projects end-to-end, scoping, prioritizing, communicating, and delivering results.
  • People Skills: Patient, pragmatic, and effective with people, able to implement change without “overnight” disruption; high emotional intelligence and accountability.
  • Logistics & Location: Hybrid flexibility preferred; candidate should be able to work in or near the firm’s Indiana footprint (Hammond / South Bend / Fort Wayne / Tippecanoe) or demonstrate an ability to maintain a strong remote pulse across distributed teams.

Why you should work here:

  • Meaningful Impact: Lead the operational transformation of a growing criminal defense practice . Your work will directly affect profitability, efficiency, and client outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Access to structured onboarding and the firm’s executive onboarding plan; opportunity to join the Crisp Experience for additional operational coaching in the first 90 days.
  • Visibility & Autonomy: Work closely with senior leadership and gain broad exposure to legal-operations, vendor management, and strategic planning with high potential for role growth and expanded responsibility.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive Base Salary: Market-aligned and commensurate with experience, with a KPI-tied bonus potential.
  • Work Flexibility: Hybrid work options available for high performers; on-site presence expected per role needs.
  • Professional Development: Support for training, conferences, and role-specific upskilling.
  • Health & Retirement: Benefits package and retirement options discussed during the interview process.
  • Time Off & Leave: Paid time off and observed holidays, with additional leave policies as applicable.
  • Visibility & Growth: High visibility to firm leadership and clear pathways for expanded responsibility and career growth.
  • Success Support: The role includes structured success metrics and a dedicated first-90-days support program to help you ramp and succeed—details will be shared during the hiring process.
