Located in Mill Creek, Washington, our firm focuses on family law cases such as divorce, custody, support, and spousal maintenance, along with estate planning and probate. We are recognized for supporting clients through life’s most difficult transitions with empathy and professionalism.
We pride ourselves on having a team that takes ownership and works collaboratively to maintain a smooth and client-ready operation. From legal assistants to attorneys, every person is expected to show up prepared, communicative, and aligned with our firm’s high standards.
We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead the business side of our legal practice. This person will handle everything from HR oversight and SOP development to team accountability and internal communications. You’ll work side-by-side with our founding attorney to support firmwide performance, manage administrative workflows, and make sure the entire team has the structure they need to succeed.
What you’ll do:
- Operational Leadership and HR Oversight: Manage core HR responsibilities including employee onboarding, professional conduct standards, handbook maintenance, write-ups, and performance improvement plans. Ensure all staff consistently reflect the firm’s professional values and expectations.
- SOP Development and Process Optimization: Design, document, and enforce standard operating procedures across departments. Evaluate internal processes to enhance efficiency, reduce duplication, and promote a consistent workflow throughout the firm.
- Executive Support and Business Continuity: Function as the primary operational partner to the firm owner, stepping in as a proxy when the owner is engaged in trial or away on business. Anticipate needs and maintain momentum across firm priorities in her absence.
- Billing, Collections, and Financial Oversight: Oversee the timely completion of billing and invoicing tasks by attorneys and bookkeeper. Monitor collections, track accounts receivable, and ensure financial workflows align with firm goals and revenue targets.
- Office Management and Administrative Supervision: Lead the front desk and administrative staff, addressing day-to-day office needs including time tracking, attendance, and facility concerns. Serve as the escalation point for operational issues and internal team accountability.
- Community Engagement and External Operations: Coordinate and execute community outreach events, manage referral platforms such as Martindale and Avvo, and foster positive relationships with vendors and external stakeholders to expand the firm’s presence and impact.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience and Industry Insight: Brings 5–10 years of leadership experience in operations, administration, or legal support, with direct exposure to law firm operations.
- Process Implementation and Accountability: Demonstrates a strong history of building, refining, and enforcing standard operating procedures. Ensures consistent follow-through, operational reliability, and high standards across teams.
- Communication and Team Collaboration: Communicates with clarity, confidence, and respect. Known for maintaining follow-through and building trust among both staff and clients while reinforcing expectations and professionalism.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook), with a working knowledge of operational tools or internal dashboards. While no advanced analytics are required, comfort with basic metrics and data is preferred.
- Professionalism and Initiative: Client-facing, polished, and highly proactive. Anticipates needs, responds without delay, and steps in to lead without waiting for instruction. Maintains high standards of presentation and conduct in every interaction.
Why you should work here:
- Strategic Operational Impact: Take an active role in guiding firm operations, including front desk procedures, team management, billing, collections, and vendor coordination. Your leadership contributes directly to a better client experience and improved business performance.
- Collaborative, Mission-Driven Team: Join a firm with deep roots in family law and a reputation for sharp legal advocacy and high professional standards. You’ll work alongside experienced attorneys who value precision, follow-through, and team accountability.
- Autonomy and Influence: This role offers the freedom to take ownership and make meaningful changes. Your initiative, ideas, and process-driven mindset will help improve the firm’s daily operations. You'll have both the autonomy to lead and the support needed to thrive.
Additional perks:
- Compensation: $42/hour max
- Benefits: Full coverage of medical, dental, and vision premiums for employee (and dependents); 401(k) plan with matching after eligibility period; paid time off accrued; all major holidays observed.
- Location & Schedule: Onsite, full-time role at Mill Creek, WA.
