Spencer Trial Attorneys is a family-run law firm in El Paso led by husband-and-wife team Jake and Ashley Spencer. From our historic house-turned-office at 1009 Montana Avenue, we provide full-service representation in probate, estate planning, guardianship, personal injury, criminal defense, and select litigation.

Our approach is simple: fight for clients with the intensity of a big firm while treating them with the care of a family practice. Clients count on us for strength, consistency, and excellence, and we deliver with a team culture that values collaboration and accountability. At Spencer Trial Attorneys, the drama stays in the courtroom—not in the office.

We’re hiring a Guardianship Case Manager to help families navigate guardianship cases with clarity and care. You’ll draft pleadings, track a large guardianship docket, and be the steady voice clients turn to during stressful moments. Experience in guardianship is a plus, but if you bring grit, empathy, and organization, we’ll train you.

What you’ll do:

  • Draft Pleadings: Guardianship filings and reports that judges can trust at first glance.
  • Manage Guardianships: Track 200+ cases, deadlines, and reports like a seasoned air-traffic controller.
  • Court Coordination: Schedule hearings, communicate with clerks, and keep attorneys looped in.
  • Client Communication: Calm worried families and explain processes with warmth and clarity.
  • Attorney Support: Surface key updates and ensure attorneys always have what they need.
  • Record Organization: Maintain digital files so clean even opposing counsel would be jealous.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience:  Prior legal or administrative experience preferred, but not required). Exceptional newcomers with rock-solid writing chops will be considered.
  • Bi-lingual: Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with a diverse client base.
  • Discovery Ninja: Fluent in Texas rules and federal FRCP discovery demands.
  • Research & Writing: You can brief a thorny issue in plain English—and proof your work without Grammarly holding your hand.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable in case-management platforms, MS Office, and e-filing portals.
  • Soft Skills: Positive, coachable, stress-resilient, and genuinely curious about the law (clock-punchers need not apply).
  • On-Site Commitment: Full-time at our El Paso office once renovations finish; brief remote training period possible.

Why you should work here:

  • Growth Track: Growth opportunities within a supportive, close-knit team.
  • Hands-On Training: Direct mentorship from partners plus 30-60-90-day onboarding roadmap and SOPs.
  • Culture First: We hire for talent and attitude—then keep only the people who elevate the team.
  • Meaningful Impact: Direct impact helping families navigate complex legal processes.

Additional perks:

  • Competitive Salary:  We are committed to offering competitive compensation that aligns with the expertise and experience our candidates bring to the table.
  • Additional Benefits:
    • All El Paso County courthouse holidays + flexible sick/emergency leave
    • Firm is exploring a $250-$500 monthly health-insurance stipend for employees who need coverage
    • Renovated workspace with private offices, annual performance reviews, and complimentary six-month Crisp Experience professional-development program after 90 days

At Spencer Trial Attorneys, guardianship isn’t just paperwork—it’s protecting futures. This role isn’t just about case management—it’s about guiding families through some of life’s most difficult transitions with care and confidence. If you’re ready to bring structure, empathy, and accountability to our guardianship practice, we’d love to hear from you.
