Gonzalez Torres Law has built its reputation as a legal practice dedicated to standing with clients during their most difficult moments. With offices in Norcross and Alpharetta, the firm has grown rapidly, expanding its team, embracing new technology, and reinforcing its commitment to accessible, client-first service in both English and Spanish. Led by experienced attorneys and a forward-thinking management team, the firm blends compassion with action, ensuring every case moves forward with purpose and precision.
Now, we’re seeking a Personal Injury Department Manager to take the reins of our pre-litigation department. This isn’t a behind-the-scenes role. It’s a leadership position where you’ll set the standard for case management, guide and mentor a team, and be the point person for negotiations, client escalations, and high-value files. If you’re ready to step into a role where your decisions, communication, and leadership directly shape client outcomes, this is your opportunity to lead with impact.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the Pre-Lit Department: Train, coach, and supervise case managers; assign caseloads; maintain reporting on cases in treatment, demand, settlement, and litigation referrals.
- Negotiate Settlements: Take over post-demand offers, drive settlements forward, and manage VIP or complex files.
- Handle Escalations & VIP Clients: Resolve tier-2 client issues, manage sensitive situations with firmness and empathy, and set boundaries that maintain trust without overpromising.
- Oversee Case Flow: Ensure smooth intake setup, treatment coordination, medical records collection, demand preparation, and lien/provider negotiations.
- Coordinate with Litigation: Package and hand off unresolved pre-lit cases cleanly to the litigation team.
- Maintain Disbursement Standards: Guarantee 100% of eligible files are disbursed within 10 days of check receipt, including provider payoffs and client communications.
- Selective Caseload: Personally carry ~10-15 niche or VIP cases (e.g., trucking accidents, highly sensitive clients).
- Improve Processes: Identify gaps, propose solutions, and partner with leadership to refine SOPs, KPIs, and use of tools like Clio Grow and Outlook integrations.
- Key Success Metrics: Deliver results across monthly settlements, cases closed, timely disbursements, and client reviews that reflect a positive experience.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience: 2+ years in PI pre-litigation case management; prior supervisory/leadership exposure (mentoring or directing others).
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to manage offers, liens, and client expectations to successful resolution.
- Bilingual: Fluent in English & Spanish (required), especially in negotiations and escalations.
- Client Communication: Strong balance of empathy and firmness; able to de-escalate while holding boundaries.
- Organizational Strength: Able to track multiple cases, deadlines, and reporting requirements with precision.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable with Clio (Grow/Manage), Outlook, e-signatures, and other case management tools.
- Leadership Mindset: Ready to treat the department as your own and set the standard, enforce best practices, and keep morale high.
Why you should work here:
- Be the Department Owner: This isn’t just a “check the box” role, you’ll lead the pre-litigation function and shape its growth.
- Room to Grow: As a mid-sized firm in an exciting growth phase, you’ll have the chance to innovate, implement new processes, and influence how the department runs.
- Supportive, Family-Style Culture: We trust our people. No micromanagement here. The team is collaborative, self-policing, and committed to high standards.
- Professional Development: Shadow a seasoned supervisor during your 30-60-90 ramp-up, then step into full ownership with leadership’s support.
- Impact & Recognition: You’ll be the “go-to” person for pre-lit, from client escalations to department innovation, your work will be seen and valued.
- Collaborative Leadership: Leadership values transparency. We expect you to bring challenges forward so we can support you and the department.
Additional perks:
- Paid Time Off: Begins after 90 days, with 7 days PTO for the first year, then +3 days annually.
- Health Insurance: 80% employer-paid for the employee; 20% for dependents.
If you’re looking for a role where you can coast through the day, this isn’t it. Our pre-litigation team moves fast, handles complex cases, and expects nothing less than excellence. Leading here means balancing compassion with firmness, guiding a team while handling tough negotiations, and keeping clients informed without ever overpromising. It’s demanding work, but if you’re driven, resilient, and ready to own a department that makes a real impact in people’s lives, you’ll thrive here. We’re not just managing cases; we’re setting the standard for client care in personal injury.
