The Office Manager role is a pivotal position at Heil Law Firm, designed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our Houston office. As the firm continues to expand, this role will support both the operational and human resource functions, allowing leadership to focus on strategic initiatives. The individual will be instrumental in maintaining a productive work environment, handling HR tasks, and supporting the office's growing needs. This role is essential for enhancing team performance and operational effectiveness.

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • HR & Employee Relations: Handle employee issues and serve as the escalation point for HR matters, supporting managers and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Payroll & PTO Management: Oversee payroll processes and manage PTO, ensuring accuracy and timely coverage to support employee needs.
  • Office Operations: Take charge of office supplies, vendor management, and logistics to keep the office running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Internal Support Function: Provide support to department leaders to ensure operational alignment and effective collaboration across teams.
  • Build Structure: Implement HR processes and office systems to foster a scalable and organized work environment.


What we’re looking for: 

              

  • Office Management or HR Experience: Must have a proven track record in office management or human resources with experience supporting 15–30+ employees.
  • Operational Competence: Comfortable handling various aspects of office operations and people management.
  • Preferred Skills: HR experience, particularly in payroll processing, and previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Traits: Highly organized, proactive, strong execution skills, and people-savvy. Able to manage and improve processes independently.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle HR escalations and operational challenges with strategic thinking and decisiveness.
