Quality Assurance Specialist, Future Opportunities

Quality Assurance Specialists at Critical Mass are inspired and detail-oriented.  An Intermediate QA reports to a QA Lead. Works closely with QA lead, QA Subject Matter Experts, other QA members, Project managers, designers, and developers to ensure QA standards and client satisfaction are delivered. They provide execution of QA tasks with speed and great quality for the overall agility of the QA team.


You will:

  • Be responsible for the quality of projects based on the requirements and design specifications.
  • Attend daily stand-ups or scrums on behalf of the team.
  • Communicate test results, issues, and risks found to project team members, project managers, and QA management through the different channels.
  •  
  • Assist in the creation and/or co-creation along with other staff members of any of the following:
    • Creating and maintaining comprehensive test plans
    • Writing and maintaining test cases/scripts
    • Create traceability matrix documents based upon project requirements
    • Create checklist documentation based upon project requirements
    • Performing functional and exploratory testing
    • Effectively communicating statuses
    • Apply industry-standard testing methodology, strategies, and industry best practices
  • Assist with the following:
    • Create defect tickets and track issues to resolution
    • Report creation and related metrics at different levels when necessary
    • Work and explain assignments when necessary to any co-worker and/or junior staff members
    • Should be able to execute regression tests based on design specifications and requirements
  • Understand QA estimations and proactively help if needed on said estimations for the team.
  • Have at least basic knowledge and understanding of the project life cycle and industry standards.
  • Understand testing methodologies and strategies to be a gatekeeper so they can determine when to raise flags.
  • Work with other team members to ensure the success of projects.
  • Understand functional & non-functional, new, or ongoing project requirements.

 

You have:

  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
  • 1-year experience in Agile Methodologies for software development.
  • 1-year Experience working with local and offshore teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows or OS software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, project management, business, or related field.
  • Mastery of office productivity tools such as Excel, Word, MS Project, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of collaboration and issue tracking tools such as Box, Jira, Confluence.
  • Working experience with automation testing.
  • Knowledge of Crossbrowser testing.
  • Working experience with emails and banners testing.
