Associate Media Director

As an Associate Media Director, you are a strategic leader with a passion for local media planning and buying, particularly across local TV, radio, and OOH channels. You thrive on negotiating high-impact opportunities and managing bespoke media programs that deliver measurable business results. You are a mentor and independent contributor, collaborating closely with planning teams while driving execution and optimization across channels.

You Will:

  • Lead the development, negotiation, and execution of Tier 2 local media investment strategies, with a primary focus on local TV and radio buying.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with planning teams to translate strategy into execution, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end buying process, including vendor outreach, buy management, and delivering on client needs.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of US regional markets (East, Central, West, and South) and recommend buys tailored to these local areas.
  • Support client deliverables, including reporting and media partner management, in collaboration with planning and measurement teams.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, particularly within local media channels, to drive innovative investment approaches.
  • Partner with insight, planning, and marketing science teams to leverage data-driven customer insights.

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in media planning and investment, with emphasis on local TV buying; radio and audio experience are a plus.
  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role, with the ability to operate independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Expertise in Tier 2 market dynamics and local market nuances.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recommend data-driven optimizations.
  • Familiarity with platforms like DDS for buy management and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to support collaboration and client deliverables.
  • Experience working with automotive clients (preferred).
