Freelance Senior User Experience Designer, Product

Calgary

As a Senior User Experience Designer, you’ll shape the user experience of our clients’ digital products with a focus on intuitive, elegant, and technically sound solutions. You’ll bring deep empathy for both the end user and our clients’ business goals while balancing creativity and technical feasibility.

Your day-to-day will include organizing content, developing information architectures, documenting scenarios and use cases, and delivering detailed wireframes and functional specifications. You’ll own key areas of work from design through completion—shaping major features, contributing to the design and development process, and ensuring milestones are met on time with high-quality outcomes.

This role will be client facing. You’ll join team meetings, represent the creative mission, and collaborate directly with cross-functional stakeholders beyond the design team. You’ll need to navigate complex technical environments, engage with developers, and become a subject matter expert on the systems you’re designing for.

You Will:

  • Design holistic systems, flows, and interfaces for web apps and web portals, creating simple yet sophisticated interactions.

  • Dive into the details to fully understand complex systems, proactively asking questions to deepen your knowledge.

  • Create detailed wireframes, visual compositions, and prototypes that clearly communicate design intent, supported by user insights and analytics.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with internal and external engineering teams, creating and maintaining design systems and interaction specifications.

  • Guide and mentor other designers, raising the quality of work across the team.

  • Facilitate design studios and working sessions with autonomy, leading mid-level project work with confidence.

  • Stay informed on emerging tools and design concepts, contributing to pitches and business development efforts as needed.

  • Foster team culture through collaboration, positivity, and openness to learning and feedback.

You Have:

  • 3–5 years of experience in UX or product design, ideally with exposure to web portal/web app environments.

  • Strong communication skills to articulate complex ideas to designers, developers, and non-technical team members.

  • Proven track record of creative problem solving for large-scale, complex digital platforms.

  • A detail-oriented and highly organized working style with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

  • High proficiency in tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • A portfolio showcasing work on complex digital products, technical projects, and collaboration with development teams.

  • Prior experience designing within Salesforce or other CRM platforms is a plus
