Senior UX Writer, Contract

Are you a seasoned UX Writer who is passionate about delivering elevated digital experiences through useful, meaningful copy? One of Critical Mass' clients is looking for a Senior UX Writer who is exceptional at driving the direction of content and creating cohesive product narratives across multiple platforms and touch points. Our team works across the client's transactional projects, touching everything from complex user flows to micro copy.

As a Senior UX Writer, your portfolio showcases content that improves the overall user experience. To achieve this, you've collaborated with a variety of disciplines, including user experience, design, product, engineering, etc. Working with each, you have created cohesive language and a unified voice across products and platforms.

Contract Duration: June 29 to September 25


What You'll Do:

  • Translate creative direction and copy points from creative briefs into engaging and effective copy concepts (incl. translate complex or technical topics into clear, accessible language)
  • Own the strategy and execution of transactional copy across email, SMS, in-app messaging, and emerging channels
  • Write and optimize transactional content (checkout flows, order confirmations, shipping updates, error states, account notifications)
  • Edit and proofread content to maintain high quality standards
  • Partner with UX, product, engineering, and legal teams to ensure copy supports business goals and user needs
  • Collaborate with creative team members to determine the conceptual and copy direction 
  • Mentor junior writers and provide creative direction on transactional projects
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously

What We're Looking For:

  • 6+ years of copywriting experience with significant focus on exceptional UX writing, transactional content, or product copy
  • A keen enthusiasm for and demonstrable understanding of Web trends and technologies 
  • Proven ability to lead content strategy and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of user experience, conversion optimization, and customer journey design
  • Experience navigating legal, compliance, and accessibility requirements
