Sr. Manager, Digital Buying & Trading India

Introduction on the role: 

Lead and orchestrate the pre-season Buying and in-season Trading for the INDIA Owned.Com team, driving execution and securing a holistic approach to our channel assortment and trading, aligned with global and local guidelines. Ensure the achievement of market KPIs.

What will you do? 

  • Lead buying process for .com channel and assure right volumes are bought following market OTB plans which optimizes conversion and provides the most premium product experience in the industry. 
  • Ensure clear goal setting and quarterly plans are set and in place reflecting both Market and Country focuses as well as channel specific initiatives and targets to drive a common focus. 
  • Lead continuous evolution of .com buying and trading processes leveraging internal and external networks to define optimization opportunities and best practices.  Continuously drive learnings and improvement across teams to evolve our local buying, planning and trading processes to maximize full price sell through. 
  • In partnership with local demand planning, look to continuously evolve size buy breakdowns in line with demand considering geo, product type, sales line and gender 
  • Develop and drive data-driven business intelligence and range insights to maximize seasonal .com range efficiency and commercial impact. 
  • Drive Owned.Com in-season trading from a merchandising pov: 
  • Lead in-season replenishment buys of stocks to support trading performance according to .com store(s) performance and market commercial/trade strategy. 
  • Ensure timely sales forecast by product area, stock intakes, and threshold/exclusion recommendations from a product standpoint with regard to markdowns. 
  • Proactively analyze and respond to sell-out trends (steering restock buys and closely responding to x-market sell-out trends) 
  • Brings physical product expertise to the entire digital business, whilst bringing Owned.Com, Indian digital shopper expertise upstream into global merchandising and brand marketing teams. 
  • Partner closely with regional and global merchandising teams across the seasonal milestones to secure a DTC-led and brand aligned product assortment and in-season trading strategy. 
  • Provide input to Regional and Global DTC Merchandising teams around Digital India Owned.com range needs. (Inline, Exclusives, Speed replenishment, Mega Moments). 
  • Working closely with local demand planning, work to define and continuously optimize pre and in-season strategy for OTB Planning for .com following market financial targets. 
  • Work closely with local demand planning to align our seasonal stock position assuring the right volumes are available in .com store(s) and related distribution centers. 
  • Work closely with local demand planning to ensure we have a managed allocation strategy that ensures .com store needs are covered by our evolving fulfillment landscape. 
  • Support India Buying and Trading’s adoption of the latest merchandising tools, capabilities and insights coming from the Regional and Global Analytics and Global Merchandising and Planning teams. 
  • Team development: Manage and develop a team of 2+ direct reports 

 

Who are you? 

  • BA or BS degree from a 4-year college or university (Masters Degree preferred) 
  • 8+ or more years DTC merchandising industry experience (showing progressive leadership) (preferred) 
  • 5+ years experience in eCom, digital and or tech innovation (preferred) 
  • 5+ years people management experience (preferred) 
  • Proven track record of establishing credible strategies provoking innovation  
  • Experience/exposure of start-up organization, scaling international businesses 
  • Footwear Industry experience 
  • Proven P&L Delivery 
  • Strong proven skill-set in pre-season Planning, Buying and Trading for a multichannel direct-to-consumer global brand, (via advanced training, studies, and relevant working experience, with at least 5 years in eCommerce/online). 
  • Deep knowledge of merchandising and retail supply and operations topics and solid knowledge of other functional areas involved in the Planning & Buying process 
  • Experience in Leading and Developing Teams - ensure organizational efficiency through effective motivation, training and development.   
  • Senior business leader with proven track record of successfully managing an eCommerce business, working successfully in cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong strategic, influence and operational skills. Ability to go from strategic to tactical.  
  • Digital experience across DTC, B2B, B2B2C, Omni, App, New eBusiness Models.  
  • Proven ability to navigate and be effective in matrix organizations. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.  
  • Entrepreneurial & creative growth mindset: always pushing, innovating to drive growth.  
  • Motivational: inspires and engages by role modelling 
  • Accountable: takes ownership for successes and failures- translates into learnings 
  • Dynamic and adaptable: can quickly and effectively assimilate and drive change 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English is a must. Additional languages an added plus 
  • Travel Requirements: 3-6 trips annually
