Introduction on the role:
This Director level position is within the Global Information Technology organization will oversee the implementation, support, and maintenance of IT systems across multiple countries within the given region, looking for ways to collaborate, standardize and enhance the IT service, project and applications. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage IT operations in a fast-paced environment whilst collaborating with global and regional stakeholders and business leaders.
As a senior leader and liaison, they will work with the IT leadership team and regional leadership to influence and set direction for the team and areas they support, building a strategy and plan with global and business objectives and regional needs. This role oversees IT program management and technical applications supporting functions for the business to ensure continuous operations for a 24X7 business. Communication and adaptability are key for success in this role, as the ideal candidate should be able to pivot quickly to address evolving priorities and take on additional responsibilities as required. The responsibilities include architecture, enhancement, maintenance, support, and functional implementation expertise. Project execution, vendor management, solution architecture & development are important aspects of this role.
What will you do?
- Act as a key liaison between regional IT leadership and business partners, ensuring that IT strategies and local projects are closely aligned with business priorities while maintaining consistency and standardization where applicable.
- Provide regular updates to regional and local leadership on IT performance and initiatives.
- Develop strong relationships with regional leaders, external partners, and vendors.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams including retail operations, supply chain, e-commerce, to align IT projects with business goals.
- Partner with corporate IT to oversee all aspects of IT locally. Directly manage the IT resources with the dotted lines to the IT functional/application team leads.
- Direct, organize and deliver programs with a matrixed IT project portfolio, with a significant focus on growth and expansion for digital and retail.
- Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants working with legal and procurement to negotiate contracts to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and solutions aligned with our SLA’s.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing IT resource. Ensure that all IT activities comply with all internal policies, industry standards and local laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate technologies to solve business problems.
- Gather requirements and design customers solutions ensuring they meet organizational goals.
- Drive programs through standard program management processes. Regular status updates, end to end program plans, intake process and prioritization, matrixed resource management and executive updates.
- Implement best practices and stay abreast of emerging technology, country, and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions that enhance the brands competitive edge / service and operational efficiency.
Who are you?
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Information Technology, with a focus on retail or consumer goods ideally within a global organization
- Minimum of 3+ years of management level experience in IT
- Demonstrated experience in a matrix reporting environment with the ability to manage multiple reporting lines and priorities.
- Proven track record in managing large scale IT projects, infrastructure management and vendor management.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Solid understanding of IT governance, risk management and compliance frameworks as well as IT business processes and practices
- Skills and proven ability to analyze complex problems and break them down into logical, actionable parts.
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with retail systems, eCommerce platforms and supply chain technologies are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision making and project management abilities.
- Fluent English skill (English reading, writing, and speaking)
