Crisis Hotline Specialist-PRN

Our Crisis Hotline team is looking for a Crisis Hotline Specialists to provide support and guidance to callers experiencing mental health concerns/issues and offer problem resolution assistance to individuals requiring behavioral health support in the community of Lake County. The Crisis Hotline Specialist will use their empathy and listening skills to assist callers with their immediate needs. This very important role will take calls as part of our 24X7 crisis hotline and assist callers in developing solutions to their situations.
**Currently hiring for PRN to cover for vacations/sick time etc.
**This position is onsite and not eligible for remote work location
Essential Responsibilities
- Employ active listening techniques to assist callers in de-escalating from mental health issues/concerns.
- Provide immediate telephone crisis management to callers identified at risk for suicide or any other mental health emergency to assist in the stabilization of caller.
- Functions within a collaborative team of professionals providing crisis management to adults, children and families in the community.
- Actively participate in required trainings in order to enhance professional self and aid in program development.
- Provide appropriate linkages to all needed services and other community resources.
- Provide immediate linkage to psychiatric and medical services when necessary.
- Maintain client records in compliance with applicable Ohio law and Crossroads Health case records procedures.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Human Services preferred.
- One to two years related education, experience in medical/mental health assistance.
- Excellent listening skills
- Demonstrated compassion and empathy for those in need.
- Offer flexibility to schedule work hours as needed.
- Upon hire, complete the Agency QMHS training program.
