
Outpatient Counselor - Youth

We seek an outgoing, friendly and passionate Youth Counselor to provide individual and family therapy to our clients in Lake County. The Youth Counselor will provide therapeutic services to children, youth and their families. Services include assessment and diagnosis, individual, group and family counseling, parent guidance; information and referral and other programs to provide the highest level of care for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Performs diagnostic assessments as necessary
- Develops client-centered ISPs, monitor and review progress
- Provides outpatient individual, group and family therapy to children, adolescents, and families
- Maintains clinical records within Crossroads’ standards
- Arranges appointments and collateral contacts, and coordinates therapeutic efforts
- Participates in outcome tracking
- Provides direct service to clients in the event of an emergency, or in the absence of an assigned service provider
- Has evening hours until 9pm 2x a week
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Counseling required plus 3 years of experience. Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work preferred.
- LSW, LPC, or MFT required; LISW, LPCC or IMFT preferred.
- Must have knowledge of individual/group/family counseling techniques; solution-focused, short-term treatment techniques; and mental health/chemical dependency diagnoses (DSM 5)
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able to work on a team in a fast-paced, high stress environment
- Must possess excellent crisis management/de-escalation skills
