About the role

In the role of Finance Transformation Manager, you will report to the Director, Finance Transformation.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives that modernize Finance and Accounting processes, systems, and controls, translating requirements from process owners into clear functional and technical requirements for engineering and technology teams. You will guide initiatives across discovery, process design, solution design, build, testing, deployment, stabilization, and benefits realization while ensuring future-state solutions are scalable, auditable, and aligned with SOX requirements. The role combines process architecture, project and program management, change leadership, and software development lifecycle governance to deliver sustainable improvements across the finance operating model. Success will be measured by delivery against the transformation roadmap, effective adoption of new processes and automation, strong control outcomes, and measurable improvements in efficiency, data quality, and close/reporting performance.

We are considering applicants in the location of Los Angeles, California.

Core Areas of Responsibility

  • Finance Transformation and Process Architecture: Lead end-to-end assessment and redesign of finance processes, define future-state operating models, identify automation opportunities, and maintain alignment between process, data, controls, systems, and organizational responsibilities.
  • Business-to-Technology Translation and Solution Delivery: Partner with Finance and Accounting process owners to translate business needs into process maps, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, data and integration requirements, and implementation priorities that engineers and system teams can execute. Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships and maintain effective communication channels ensuring stakeholders are informed of status and key activities.
  • SOX Controls and Risk-by-Design: Embed SOX requirements into transformed processes and systems by designing and documenting key controls, evaluating automated and IT-dependent controls, defining evidence requirements, supporting control operation, and ensuring changes do not create unmitigated financial reporting risk.
  • Program, Project, and SDLC Governance: Manage transformation initiatives through the software development lifecycle, including roadmap planning, scope, budgets, milestones, RAID management, dependencies, design decisions, backlog governance, testing/UAT, release readiness, cutover, hypercare, and vendor or implementation-partner performance. Drive continuous improvement in PMO processes, tools, and delivery models to enhance project delivery and outcomes.
  • Change Management, Adoption, and Benefits Realization: Develop stakeholder and change-impact plans, coordinate communications and training, prepare process owners for new responsibilities, track adoption and business outcomes, and ensure new processes and systems transition into sustainable operating ownership with measurable benefits.

About You

  • You have 8+ years of experience in finance transformation, finance systems, management consulting, process improvement, or program management, including leadership of complex cross-functional initiatives from design through implementation.
  • You have strong knowledge of Finance and Accounting processes and demonstrated experience translating process-owner needs into process maps, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, data and integration requirements, and test scenarios for engineering teams.
  • You have experience with SOX control design and operation, including automated and IT-dependent controls, system-generated reports, interface and change controls, evidence requirements, testing support, and remediation of control deficiencies.
  • You have managed complex projects or programs through the software development lifecycle using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methods, including scope, budget, RAID and dependency management, backlog governance, UAT, release readiness, cutover, hypercare, and executive decision reporting.
  • You have led change management and adoption activities including stakeholder and impact analysis, communications, training, process-owner readiness, operating-model transition, and benefits realization.
  • You have experience with enterprise finance platforms and integration concepts such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud, NetSuite, Coupa, Concur, APIs, interfaces, data flows, master data, and reporting dependencies; vendor or implementation-partner management experience is also important.
  • You have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA, CPA, PMP, Prosci, Lean Six Sigma, or comparable credential is a plus. Experience in media, streaming, subscription, or other high-volume digital businesses is also a plus.
