Job Description

CSCI Consulting is looking for a detail-oriented and highly skilled Technical Analyst to support data standardization, systems integration, and technical compliance efforts for a federal financial reporting program. The Technical Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert, ensuring that data architecture, application services, and reporting frameworks align with federal standards and program objectives.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting by supporting the establishment of accounting data standards, system and application support services, and the technical implementation of DATA Act reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert on financial systems, data architecture, and reporting compliance within a government agency context
  • Establish, document, and maintain standardized accounting data structures and financial data models
  • Support the integration and operation of systems and applications related to financial reporting and data management
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining technical requirements for DATA Act reporting and other federal financial compliance mandates
  • Analyze existing systems and recommend improvements or enhancements to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Collaborate with program managers, developers, and analysts to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions
  • Develop or review technical research and documentation in alignment with agency goals and contractual obligations
  • Support the program manager by providing insight and expertise to solve complex technical challenges related to federal reporting and system integration

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant technical experience and a bachelor’s degree, or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Specialized knowledge in financial systems, data architecture, or enterprise system integration
  • Working knowledge of federal financial data standards and compliance frameworks, including DATA Act requirements
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with a detail-oriented approach to solving problems
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional presence

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with federal reporting systems such as GTAS, DATA Act Broker, or FPDS
  • Familiarity with SQL, data mapping tools, or business intelligence platforms
  • Knowledge of security and audit standards in federal financial systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
  • Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
  • Past experience working with a federal agency / state or local government agency
  • Department of Defense experience is a plus!
