Regional Building Services Director (FT - Hybrid)

JOB SUMMARY
The Regional Building Services Director is responsible for overseeing the building services in a portfolio of building inspection augmentation and plans examiners within a designated region. The role includes managing a team of building inspectors and/or plans examiners to ensure efficient coverage of building department services. This is a leadership role within CSG that focuses on delivering and managing services to clients within a specific region, acting as a key point of contact for customer needs, ensuring successful implementation of client needs and ongoing support while providing strategical solutions with regional clients.
The Regional Building Services Director works closely with clients, internal teams, and regulatory bodies to deliver high-quality building services that meet performance and compliance standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily building services operations across the region, ensuring efficient and effective client customer service.
- Develop, implement, and manage preventive programs to ensure optimal performance of CSG staff.
- May supervise, train, and mentor building inspectors, permit technicians, and plans examiners, ensuring the team is equipped to meet operational needs, in the absence of the Regional Building Services Manager.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Foster a safety-first culture, ensuring all team members follow proper safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding building services, addressing concerns and providing regular updates on CSG operations.
- Collaborate and frequently communicate with clients to understand their operational needs and develop tailored building management strategies to meet those goals.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by delivering consistent, high-quality services across all managed jurisdictions.
- Monitor expenses and resource allocation, ensuring that costs are controlled while maintaining service levels.
- Analyze operational data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall efficiency.
- Evaluate current building services processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance service delivery.
- Provide client acquisition and client management services.
- Attend local chapters and industry affiliations in your region.
- Be efficient in the proposal process and interviews with clients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess an International Code Council (ICC) certification as a Building Official. All licenses and certificates must be maintained as a condition of employment.
- 10 years' experience as a Building Official in a public agency or private agency; OR 10+ years' experience as a Deputy Building Official/Building Services Manager in a public agency or private agency.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to building code compliance.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Access Specialist (CASp) are preferred.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Class “C” California driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- General office environment.
- Work with detailed, finely printed documents.
- Require extensive physical exertion during on-site inspections.
- Require physical flexibility & dexterity, including the ability to continually stand, bend, stoop, reach, crouch and climb.
- Require working in sitting position with computer for extended periods, occasionally.
- Require working outside in all weather conditions, occasionally.
- May require to work after business hours, occasionally.
- Must be able to travel to client sites and/or job sites.
- May require working in elevated places, noisy environments, and dark areas, occasionally.
- Require walking, bending, and sitting.
- May require lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Require the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and multiple projects.
Salary Range
$159,000 - $225,000 USD
