Claim Coordinator

Job Summary: Responsible for supporting the claim consulting team in the daily servicing of claims and claim management program for the customers of the commercial insurance lines.  Provide prompt, accurate and courteous service to customers, team members and insurance companies regarding those accounts and other duties as directed. 

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with carriers and internal/ external customers to ensure delivery of exceptional customer service.
  • Claim Reporting: Receives and reports new claims to insurance carriers, third party claims administrators and wholesalers;
    • Follows up on reported claims for claim number and adjuster’s contact information,
    • Enters all relevant information into the Claim Loss Database,
    • Keeps abreast of developments with claims & communicates with adjusters as necessary,
    • Alerts Associates/Consultants of major developments or issues.
  • Monitor progression of first party claims (client related auto and property) to conclusion;
    • Elevates claim to an Associate or a Consultant if complex or problematic.
  • Assist in preparing necessary reports, dashboards and claims data within Origami.
  • Assists Claims Team in the assigned coordinating activity of scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.
  • Upon client renewal, sends appropriate communications to clients, such as Claim Reporting Procedures, Claim Reporting Forms, etc.
  • Works in Microsoft Office Suite and various agency systems, including but not limited to:
    • Sagitta;
    • WorkSmart/ImageRight; and
    •  
  • Accesses individual insurance carrier and TPA claim systems for gathering claim and loss information.

 

 

Other Functions:

  • Maintains Client files that conform to company standards.
  • Maintains workflows, tasks and incoming mail in Agency Management System.
  • Ensures accuracy of client data in the agency management system.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Requirements:

  • College degree preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal communication and problem solving skills.
  • Self-starter, flexible, able to multi-task and handle responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to be flexible and work outside of the normal work day.
  • Proficiency required in Microsoft products; Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without Company sponsorship.

 

 

Salary for this position ranges from $29.69/hr  - $32/hr. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

 

Qualifying positions will also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, such as participation in family medical and dental insurance programs, 401K plan, and PTO.
