The Role
We’re seeking a Legal Director to lead our high-performing in-house legal team responsible for real estate and commercial transactions.
You’ll be responsible for structuring and negotiating real estate and commercial agreements, overseeing transaction execution, and collaborating cross-functionally with our real estate, development, kitchens, and executive teams to support the business while managing legal risk. We’re looking for a strategic thinker and a practical problem-solver who will be energized by the opportunity to build at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a legal team that supports a large real estate and commercial transactions pipeline.
- Structure and negotiate complex real estate deals, including acquisitions, dispositions, leases, design and development deals.
- Draft and negotiate key commercial legal contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
- Partner cross-functionally with real estate, operations, kitchen sales and others to align legal strategy with business goals.
- Provide expert legal advice and counsel to the business on commercial legal matters such as restaurant partnerships, procurement, and other contracts that help grow our business verticals.
- Drive continuous improvement and scalability in deal processes and execution.
What We’re Looking For
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Qualified lawyer with 10+ years of experience in commercial real estate law, preferably with a strong mix of law firm and in-house experience.
- Proven experience negotiating and closing real estate and commercial transactions.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with a proven track record of building high-performing teams.
- Practical, business-oriented mindset with excellent judgment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
