As Commercial and Real Estate Counsel, you’ll provide strategic legal support across diverse areas of business law, helping to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and drive impactful decision-making. 



What You’ll Do: 

  • Negotiate and draft real estate and commercial contracts and documents. 
  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel to our business, with a focus on commercial and operational matters. 
  • Structure, negotiate, and draft documents related to partnerships with restaurants and procurement. 
  • Structure, negotiate, and draft documents related to SaaS partnerships, API integrations, and technology service orders.
  • Provide advice and guidance on a wide range of operational, commercial, and product counseling matters, with a focus on municipal regulatory demands, commercial contracts and consumer disputes. 

Negotiate commercial contracts with our customers, which include large enterprises. Help set up and maintain corporate entities in Latin America markets. Find creative and pragmatic legal and regulatory solutions for our rapidly-growing business. Collaborate cross-functionally with a wide variety of business units. Manage outside counsel work and efficiently manage outside counsel spend. Support all legal needs of the LatAm business, which includes commercial, corporate, litigation, employment, and real estate issues.  At a startup like ours, you will face all kinds of legal issues, not just those confined to your area of expertise.  Strong candidates face these questions with an open mind and are willing to work outside their comfort zone to address challenges efficiently and quickly.

What We’re Looking For 

  • Law Degree (LL.B or equivalent) and admission to the Brazilian Bar (OAB); LLM is preferred but not required.
  • Advanced or Fluent English and Intermediate Spanish levels are required. An advanced Spanish level is a plus.
  • Strong background, with 4-6 years of relevant experience, in Real Estate and Technology industries in a law firm and/or in-house role within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Solid experience in drafting and negotiation of agreements across the Real Estate and SaaS areas in both Portuguese and English. Experience in drafting and negotiation in Spanish is a plus.
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR demands, including responses to Governmental fiscalizations, inquiries, and investigations. 
  • Experience in the coordination and control of litigation cases, both civil and employment, including drafting of court documents and defenses. 
  • Experience with corporate law, drafting and executing corporate acts with São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Minas Gerais Commercial Boards. Knowledge of further Latin America-based corporate law is a plus.
  • Interest in regulatory aspects of launching a disruptive product in the Brazilian market, ensuring compliance with lawful standards and timely escalation of risks.
  • Interest in working closely with Latin America's Spanish-speaking markets, coordinating local demands according to business needs and procedures. 
  • Skills: Strong analytical, research, and drafting skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal matters and present information directly to key business stakeholders in a professional manner.
