Career Team is looking for a Head of Global Payroll & Tax Compliance to join its team! This is a critical role responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for all employees.  You will not only be our technical subject matter expert for 15+ US state tax jurisdictions but also a people leader managing a dedicated team payroll team.

As a remote leader, you will be the bridge between our US operations and our global mission.

Your Impact on Career TEAM’s Success:

Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the junior payroll staff, ensuring their professional growth and the accuracy of their output.

Workflow Oversight: Manage the end-to-end payroll lifecycle for 15+ states, acting as the final point of escalation for complex tax and system issues.

Multi-State Tax Leadership: Mastermind the withholding, filing, and reconciliation for 15+ states, including SUTA/FUTA, FICA, and local tax nexus.

System Optimization: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ADP Workforce Now, ensuring seamless system integration and data integrity.

Tax Compliance: Lead the registration of new state tax IDs and manage SUTA/FUTA/FICA compliance across a growing US footprint.

Compliance & Audit: Lead the response for all federal and state tax notices, garnishments, and year-end (W-2/W-3) reconciliations.

Strategic Reporting: Provide the C-suite with accurate and timely reports concerning audits, 401k, and trend reporting.

Process Engineering: Shift the payroll function from manual "zagging" to automated, scalable excellence.

Other Duties:

  • Approach each day and task with a “ZAG” mindset.
  • Other duties and projects as needed.

The Ideal Qualifications for this Position Include:

  • US Payroll Expert: Extensive experience managing US payroll (multi-state experience is non-negotiable).
  • System Power User: High proficiency in payroll systems, such as ADP WorkforceNow, Kronos/Ukg, and Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, Macros).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPP certification is a massive plus).
  • Communication: Flawless English communication skills, capable of explaining complex tax issues to US-based staff.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM PHST to align with US Eastern/Central time zones.

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 PHP/month based on experience
