CTI is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure System Administrator to support operations within a classified environment at the Track Lab facility or VFCC in Hawaii. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of complex systems supporting Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) missions. You will work hands-on with customers, advanced systems, and distributed technologies while contributing to a high impact national security mission.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Responsible for asset procurement and installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure.• Configure and manage operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (commercial and government), networks (IPs, subnets, etc.), and network equipment (switches)• Configure and manage DOD and IC standard distributed authentication services• Build up systems from "bare metal" in alignment with accredited baselines• Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures adhere to company and government policies.• Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.• Perform daily backup operations.• Perform regular file archival and purge, as necessary.• Create, change and delete user accounts per request.• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization, as required.• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures for multiple sites.• Establishes, documents, and monitor the company’s cyber security program implementation plan.• Maintain Video Wall System and displays.
Requirements
Location: This position is 100% onsite and based at Camp Smith, Hawaii. No remote or hybrid options are available. Candidates must be able to work full‑time at Camp Smith and maintain daily presence on base to support mission requirements.
Necessary Skills and Experience
Minimum 5 years of professional systems engineering or system administration experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, or related field
Experience configuring, operating, and troubleshooting complex computing systems and network equipment
Strong understanding of DoD and IC security policies, authentication services, and secure protocols
Ability to configure and manage Windows and Linux operating systems
Experience with IP networking, subnets, switches, and distributed authentication services
Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance and be SCI eligible. Additional eligibility requirements for access to classified information may apply.
U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
IAT Level I certification (Security+ and relevant OS/CE certification)
Beneficial Skills and Experience
Experience with Hadoop, HBase/Accumulo, Spark, or Kafka
Familiarity with ACAS, Rancher, Grafana, and Cloud Security Gateway
Knowledge of DoD and IC network infrastructures
Experience supporting Joint IO Range or Defense Research and Engineering Network environments
Ability to create technical documentation, tutorials, and procedural instructions
Experience working in Agile environments (Jira, Confluence, GitLab)
Ability to maintain facility video distribution systems and displays
Experience performing remote or onsite break/fix support
Highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to dynamically prioritize workloads
