Manager, Operations
Location: Ravena, NY - On-site
About the Role:
As an Operations Manager at Curaleaf, you'll be the driving force behind the smooth and efficient production of our high-quality cannabis products. You’ll lead a team of dedicated professionals, ensuring day-to-day operations - from prepping to packaging - run like clockwork while meeting strict safety, quality, and compliance standards.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys building strong teams, and knows how to balance hands-on leadership with big-picture thinking. Whether you’re fine-tuning production schedules, solving problems on the floor, or collaborating on long-term strategy, your work will have a direct impact on the products Curaleaf customers know and love.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee day-to-day production operations, including prepping, packaging, and processing.
- Maintain a clean and compliant facility, ensuring all equipment and spaces meet cGMP standards
- Create and manage production schedules and inventory tracking
- Coach, mentor, develop, and support your team, setting clear goals and offering ongoing feedback
- Ensure quality control with regular QA/QC testing and data review
- Establish systems to measure operational effectiveness and continuously improve performance
- Manage budgets and control expenditures
- Operate and maintain sophisticated processing equipment
- Create and maintain SOPs, training documentation, and safety records
- Keep the department compliant with all state and federal regulations and ensure that the operation adheres to all business and industry license requirements.
- Report regularly to the Director of Operations on performance, metrics, and improvements
- Contribute to strategic planning and long-term operational growth
What You’ll Bring:
- BS/BA in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role in a production or manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams
- Proficiency with data analysis, production KPIs, and continuous improvement strategies
- A commitment to quality, safety, and compliance
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple production challenges with a sense of urgency
- Skilled in handling conflicts and navigating difficult situations with professionalism and tact
- Excellent communicator who fosters a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
- Results-driven with the ability to set, track, and communicate KPI performance to senior leadership
- Hands-on, high-energy leader who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Proficient in planning workloads, managing schedules, and implementing systems aligned with company goals and strategic initiatives
- Strong knowledge of processing and packaging technology
- A talent for training and motivating others
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
Even Better If You Have:
- Experience in the cannabis, food & beverage, or pharmaceutical industry
- Familiarity with cannabis-specific regulatory requirements
- Experience developing and executing strategic operational plans
- A passion for innovation and driving change through data-driven decisions
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hand to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. Employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 or more pounds and regularly move up to 25 pounds.
The noise level in the work environment is normal. The employee is frequently exposed to an environment of natural chemical fumes, herbal aromas, airborne particles, exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Employee will have moderate exposure to conditions such as dust and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or the skin, depending on department job assignments. $100,000 - $112,000 USD
