Accountant, Practice Consulting - Part Time

Position Overview

We are looking for an analytical team player with a background in accounting. You will work within our Advisory division as an accountant with our Curi Accounting Solutions (“CAS”) team.  In this role, you will report to the Managing Director, CAS and be responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, financial reporting packages, and related financial analyses for client practices. Financial analysis engagements support and help manage practice operations.

Key Areas 

  • Prepares intermediate to complex schedules, reconciliations, and journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP or other special purpose frameworks (primary modified cash basis).
  • Supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including annual budget preparation.
  • Performs financial analysis, including financial statement fluctuations and budget-to-actual comparisons.
  • Documents business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate on special projects, other analyses, and administrative items as needed or assigned.
  • Design and manipulate spreadsheets and slide decks as required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Must possess well-developed accounting and analysis capabilities
  • Working knowledge of accounting standards.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills using data and information.  
  • Outstanding critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.  
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate well with clients and internal teammates, who may not have a financial background.
  • Ability to perform under limited supervision while resolving problems of varying complexity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Three to five years of financial and/or managerial accounting or other relevant experience.
  • Experience reviewing the work of others.
  • Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Experience in General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Payroll, etc.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and QuickBooks skills.
  • Previous experience working in a Healthcare environment would be great but not required.
  • CPA or demonstration of required knowledge skills and abilities preferred. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with moderate supervision.

 

 
This position is a remote, part‑time role averaging 20 hours per week. While we provide flexibility in scheduling time for work, the role is not eligible for company‑sponsored benefits.

The base salary will be commensurate with an individual's work experience and educational background.

US Pay Range

$50 - $75 USD
