Director of Construction – National Accounts

The Opportunity

The Director of Construction – National Accounts provides executive leadership for a high-volume national HVAC construction program executed across numerous active sites.

This leader will oversee our national construction team — including Project Managers and Project Coordinators — and serve as the senior construction partner to a major national client. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with contractual and quality expectations.

Success in this role requires more than operational strength. It requires a stewardship-oriented leader who builds on what exists, earns trust quickly, listens first, and strengthens teams rather than reshaping them for personal recognition. We are looking for a leader who values collaboration over spotlight, accountability over ego, and long-term impact over short-term visibility.

Salary: $180,000+

This position is eligible for full benefits, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and retirement options.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically dispersed national construction team (Project Managers and Project Coordinators)
  • Serve as senior escalation point and trusted advisor to national client stakeholders
  • Provide executive oversight of a large multi-site HVAC construction portfolio
  • Ensure performance across safety, schedule, budget, quality, and compliance standards
  • Strengthen and scale a high-performing national subcontractor and supplier network
  • Partner with teams on risk management, forecasting, change evaluation, and issue resolution
  • Advance standardized project management processes while respecting institutional knowledge
  • Foster a people-first culture grounded in accountability, transparency, and mutual respect
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning and sustainable portfolio growth

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of construction management experience with strong HVAC exposure
  • 5+ years leading multi-site or national construction teams
  • Experience managing large, complex construction portfolios
  • Strong financial and operational acumen
  • High emotional intelligence and exceptional relationship-building skills
  • A leadership style grounded in stewardship, humility, and accountability
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

PMP or related certifications and enterprise-level client experience are a plus.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
