Level 2 Field Servises Technician

CCS is looking for an initiative-taking and technically skilled Level 2 Field Services Technician to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. This role is ideal for individuals enthusiastic about IT infrastructure, eager to grow their skills, and committed to delivering exceptional support in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, with changes as needed for particular projects. Participate in the on-call rotation alongside Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, providing after-hours support as required.

This position is based in our Hauppauge, Long Island office. Site visits throughout the Tri-State area will be required. A reliable vehical and valid driver's license is required. 

What You'll Do:

  • Perform equipment provisioning, decommissioning, and deployment activities for client environments.
  • Assist engineering teams with system migrations, data transfers, and implementation-related tasks.
  • Provide remote and onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, users, and associated peripherals.
  • Create, update, document, and escalate support tickets as required.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts, performing primary and secondary troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot and support desktop operating systems, software applications, and user environments.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop operating systems and endpoint devices.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and support Microsoft Office and other business applications.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics, repair coordination, and software troubleshooting for end-user devices.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including NICs, switch ports, cabling, and local network infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, and support network-connected devices and client workstation environments.
  • Perform physical network troubleshooting, including cable termination, cable testing, switch troubleshooting, and equipment power cycling.
  • Resolve escalated incidents from Level 1 support personnel and coordinate further escalation when necessary.
  • Assist with small projects, documentation efforts, and statement of work preparation under engineering guidance.
  • Participate in special projects requiring independent troubleshooting, investigation, and solution implementation.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including occasional evening and weekend support activities

SALARY RANGE: $50,000 - $55,000

 What You'll Bring:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a Help Desk, Technical Support, or User Support environment
  • Experience supporting PC hardware, software, server hardware, and Windows operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting SaaS-based applications.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience administering Active Directory users, groups, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Knowledge of client/server environments and related technologies
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and user-related issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow complex technical procedures.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including the creation of clear technical documentation and procedures.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize competing tasks, and manage workload effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Initiative-taking, customer-focused, and meticulous
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. (e.g., computers, monitors, printers, and networking equipment)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Microsoft certifications or demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft technologies.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+ and Security+
  • Vendor certifications from Microsoft, Apple, IBM, HP, Cisco, or similar technology manufacturers
  • Experience with Group Policy administration, scripting, and automation
  • Experience supporting VMware virtualization environments.
